Not far away, Amelia underestimated the acceleration of the electric bike. It suddenly jolted forward and crashed into a car.
She fell to the ground, scraping her knee and winced from the pain.
The owner of the car got out, furious, and began shouting, “Do you even know how to ride a bike? In such a rush to reincarnate, are you? What terrible luck! This is a brand–new car. I just picked it up from the dealership! Pay for the damages!”
Amelia glanced at the car’s emblem and saw it was a Maserati. She was doomed. Her 2000 dollars wouldn’t even begin to cover this.
A crowd quickly gathered, curious to see who was unlucky enough to crash into such an expensive car.
The man grabbed her sleeve. “Pay up, or I’ll call the police right now!” Amelia shifted her stance to ease the pain in her leg, she replied, “Would 200 dollars suffice?”
The man thought he’d misheard. His face turned bright red with anger. “Are you trying to insult me?”
Meanwhile, Dylan’s traffic light turned green. He glanced over at the commotion, his expression icy and his gaze deepening.
Nathan was about to press the gas when Dylan spoke, “Go handle it.”
Nathan’s grip on the steering wheel tightened instantly. His lips moved as though he wanted to argue, but in the end, he got out of the car.
The outside temperature was scorching. Amelia’s forehead was already covered in sweat. She was considering who to ask for help when a young man approached her.
“Call the traffic police first. How much will it cost? I’ll cover it for her.” He said, tone matter–of–factly.
The man whose car had been hit was ready to unleash a torrent of curses but as soon as he saw Nathan stepping out of a limited–edition luxury car worth tens of millions, he froze.
There wasn’t a second car like this in the entirety of Solandis. He couldn’t afford to offend this person. Not wanting to wait for the traffic police, he said, “2000 dollars. Just transfer it to me.”
Nathan made the transfer and turned to leave but Amelia called out to him.
Amelia was dressed casually today in a sporty outfit, emphasizing her long legs and slender waist. A playful beauty mark on the bridge of her nose added warmth to her otherwise cool features.
“Excuse me, but I don’t have that much money to compensate you right now.” Her gaze drifted toward the car in the distance. She had a sense that someone else was inside.
Nathan waved dismissively. “No need to pay.” His face was full of impatience. He had no desire to engage further with Amelia.

But Amelia approached the car anyway. “Can I get your contact information? Once I have the money. I’ll send it to you right away.”
Nathan’s expression was laced with disdain. To him, she was pretending not to recognize him and making promises she couldn’t keep. The idea that the young lady of the Summers family couldn’t afford 2000

He didn’t bother playing along, sneering as he said, “Ms. Summers, overacting just makes people sick. I ahrady told you, you don’t need to repay us. The next time you see our car, just stay far away. You reek of deceit and bad luck. Don’t bring your misfortune anywhere near us.”
Amelia was taken aback. She couldn’t remember who he was because of her amnesia. But if he disliked her so much, why had he come to help her?
Lowering her lashes thoughtfully, she still managed a small smile. “If you hate me so much, that’s all the more reason for me to repay the debt. Please give me your contact information. If you won’t, I’ll ask the person in the car. Either way, I need to know how to reach you.”
Nathan wasn’t about to let her meet Mr. Hale. His face full of disgust, he scribbled down a string of numbers. Amelia carefully put it away and then gave him a graceful bow. “Thank you.”
Nathan froze for a moment. This was not the Amelia he remembered. She had always been aloof and indifferent to everyone, with no trace of courtesy. Had she changed?
That thought barely lingered before he let out a sneer. She was probably trying some new tactic to win over Nolan.
Everyone in Solandis knew what kind of person Amelia was. Universally disliked.
