Timothy was already upset, and after drinking too much, he couldn’t stop himself from cursing.
“Amelia is just a whore. Last night, she spent the entire night with Felix. Ha! Her noises could be heard all down the hallway”
“No way. Isn’t she chasing after Nolan? She’d actually sleep with Felix?”
Timothy’s face was filled with scorn. “That’s because you don’t know her. To win over Nolan, she’s willing to use her body to bribe every man around him. To put it bluntly, she’s just a high class hooker.
“As long as you have a good relationship with Nolan, you can have her too. She probably visits the gynecologist hundreds of times a year. I’m honestly afraid she’s diseased.”
Amelia had originally planned to spike their drinks with some low–quality drugs she’d bought on a whim. But when she heard Timothy’s words, she decided against it.
Slowly, she removed the cap she was hearing, her tone calm and questioning. “Mr. Chase, are you willing to take responsibility for what you’ve just said?”
Timothy hadn’t expected Amelia to show up there in person. His expression instantly darkened with hostility. “Amelia! You dare show your face in front of me?”
Amelia’s gaze swept across the room. “I’ve already called the police. Just now, you said Felix had his way with me all night last night.
“I don’t remember anything about it, so I must have been drugged and assaulted. Since you claim you heard everything so clearly, you should be able to serve as my witness, right?”
Timothy foze, his face quickly turning crimson as he realized the implications.
The room was filled with wealthy second–generation heirs, all of them prominent figures from strict families. Moreover, each of them had a legitimate heir above them, ready to keep them in check.
If any trouble was stirred up, they’d face harsh consequences. Involving the police would bring immense disgrace.
“Who told you to call the police? Amelia, are you looking to die?”
Furious, Timothy raised his hands to strike her, but just then, a few police officers pushed open the door, their tones stern. “Who called the police?”
The young heirs in the room immediately tried to minimise their presence, terrified of being taken in and having their families find out. That would mean hours of kneeling in the family’s memorial hall.
Amelia’s eyes reddened as she quickly raised her hand. “I called the police, Officer. Someone said I was drugged and assaulted by Felix Payne last night.
“I don’t remember anything about it and suspect he used a substance. Mr. Chase said he personally heard everything and can testify. Isn’t that right, Mr. Chase?”
Timothy’s face turned beet red as his fists clenched tightly, his breathing uneven.
The police glanced at Amelia, who lowered her head and appeared sincere. Then they turned their attention to Timothy, their expressions hardening.

“You two, come with us to the station. Who is Felix? Step forward. You’ll be coming with us too.” Sexual assault was no trivial matter, especially with five officers present.
This was happening at Nocturne, so when the police opened the private room’s door, a crowd had already gathered outside, eager to watch the scene unfold.
All eyes were now on Timothy, a man with an inflated ego who was used to being adored. Never had he been treated like a spectacle.
His lips trembled, his mind reeling. He hadn’t expected Amelia to escalate things so far.
Did she feel no shame? For a woman, wasn’t enduring such humiliation quietly the norm?
But Amelia didn’t play by those rules. Since you claimed I was assaulted, then I’ll call the police and make you testify! As if that weren’t enough, she added fuel to the fire.
“Mr. Chase, the police are here now. Why don’t you repeat what you just said? I understand that you’re close to Felix, so you probably don’t want to ruin your relationship. But if we work together to send him to prison, he’ll never be able to bother you again.”
“Amelia!”
Timothy raised his hand, ready to slap her, but the police immediately stepped in, shielding Amelia. Their expressions turned icy.
“Assaulting a victim in front of us? That’s another charge added!” A pair of silver handcuffs clicked onto Timothy’s wrists.
The once–arrogant heir of the Chase family finally began to panic. His instinct was to explain. “No, I… I didn’t mean to…”
Amelia clutched her face, tears streaming as she sobbed. “Mr. Chase, does my reputation mean nothing to you? Why don’t you tell the truth now? Everyone in the room heard what you said. Officers, if you don’t believe me, you can ask the others here.”
The officers turned their attention to the dozen other people sitting in the room. One by one, the young heirs avoided eye contact, their expressions awkward.
Finally, someone spoke up, “Timothy did say that.”
“Yeah, we all heard it.”
They had no choice but to agree. If they denied it, Amelia might accuse them of being accomplices in the alleged assault. If their families were informed, they’d all be done for. Better to protect themselves.
Amelia’s face lit up with gratitude as she looked at those who had spoken up.
“Thank you. You’re truly kind–hearted people, unafraid of the Chase family’s influence and brave enough to stand up for someone like me. I’m deeply moved.”
Unafraid of the Chase’s family influence? That line was aimed directly at Timothy.
From now on, whenever he tries to reconnect with his so–called friends, he’d be haunted by the memory of their betrayal that day.
