in the hallway, I struggled frantically.
The elevator doors opened just then. As he half–carried me inside, I caught a glimpse of black leather
shoes, long legs wrapped in tailored trousers, and a beautiful, strong hand.
looked up and met a pair of light golden eyes–subdued yet incredibly intimidating–as they briefly
wept over me.
quickly buried my face.
This was too humiliating.
Outside the club, Rowan threw me into the back seat and got in himself.
felt dizzy. Hanging upside down for so long and then being dropped, I almost thought I had a
concussion.
He took a wet wipe to clean his face.
turned my head and noticed a familiar condom package peeking out from behind the tissue box.
Had they done it in this car?
le coldly asked me: “Why did you come here? To catch me cheating?”
reached for the door handle: “It’s too dirty in here. I want to get out.”
de yanked me back violently: “Elara! How long are you going to keep this up?”
My heart raced. I pinched my palm: “I want to go home.”
With a grim face, he called Ronan to drive. Neither of us spoke the entire way.
I sat as far from him as possible, not wanting to mix our scents even slightly.
At home, I headed straight for the kitchen and downed an entire glass of ice water before I could suppress my anger.

He sat in the living room. I walked over and sat down.
The silence was suffocating.
Finally, he spoke: “I was negotiating a project. You making a scene at the club embarrassed me. Are you still behaving like a Luna?”
“Am I still one?”
“If
you still want to be my Luna, stop making these wild guesses. I don’t have time to coddle you.”
“Fine. Anything else?”
He frowned: “You’re really annoying right now.”
I stood up with a faint smile: “Soon you won’t be bothered anymore.”
When he came to bed, I was already lying down, my back to him, unwilling to touch him even with a finger.
He embraced me forcefully, pulling my entire body into his arms.
I went rigid.
I didn’t sleep all night.
In the morning, I only made breakfast for myself.
He came downstairs, saw me eating bread alone, and approached, whispering in my ear with rare gentleness: “Let’s go sailing this weekend, just the two of us.”
I just responded with a simple “Mm.”
Unsurprisingly, on Friday he told me he had to fly to Switzerland.
I showed no emotional reaction.
He probably hadn’t even noticed how long it had been since we’d had a proper meal together. He warned me not to divorce him, yet treated me like I was invisible.

That weekend, I packed my books into a suitcase and took them to my new home.
While unpacking, my phone rang. It was his mother.
“Mrs. Mercer, hello,” I answered.
“Come over. We need to formalize what we discussed.”
“Is that necessary?”
“It is because I say it is.”
“…Fine, I’ll be there at noon.”
Third–person perspective:
Mrs. Mercer sat by the second–floor window, her eyes filled with joy as she watched Moira
nford walking side by side with Rowan in the garden.
nted Elara to see who was “truly worthy of being her son’s mate.”
lara’s perspective:
I arrived at the Mercer family estate around eleven forty in the morning.
The old butler at the door was visibly startled to see me. He clearly knew guests were expected today, but hadn’t anticipated it would be me, the Luna.
His eyes discreetly glanced toward the living room, from which laughter could be heard.
I heard that sickeningly sweet voice ring out like silver bells: “I won again, Brother Rowan! Are you letting me win on purpose?”
