Chapter 46
“Is there something Shari is hiding from us?” Wallace asked.
Joan nodded, but she couldn’t say exactly what it was.
Wallace decided not to push further. Instead, he said, “From now on, you need to protect her if anything happens that you can’t handle, call for help We’re always here.”
“I understand, Mr. Wallace Vance,” Joan replied.
Wallace nodded. “Alright, you can go now.”
Joan breathed a sigh of relief. She knew Wallace was the brains of the family the most rational and the smartest among the eight brothers,
Richard frowned. “Wally, what if your plan ends up getting Shari hurt?”
“You should have noticed by now,” Wallace said calmly, “Shari isn’t exactly what she seems. But no matter what she’s like, she’s still our sister We just need to let her know that whatever happens, we’ve got her back. Even if she causes a huge mess, are we going to back down?”
“Of course not,” Richard replied without hesitation. Now that he had calmed down a bit, he thought what Wallace said made some sense.
Seeing Richard relax, Wallace let out a sigh of relief. “Next, we’ll talk to Shari and start preparing for her coming–of–age party”
Marvin suddenly spoke up. “What about the invitation to Oriston Academy? Have we secured it yet?”
Richard’s expression darkened. “Although we followed through with the agreement, we still haven’t heard anything from the academy. I’m not sure if something went wrong.”
Oriston Academy was the top–ranked institution in the region, and Sharon deserved a spot there. But if Wayne and his family pulled any tricks, the invitation might be ruined.
Wallace remained unfazed. “If we don’t get it, we’ll turn to the Baxter family.”
“No way. The Baxter family will definitely demand that the engagement continue. Didn’t we agree that Shari should marry someone less powerful and easier to control?” Richard objected.
“The priority is to get the invitation. As for the engagement, we can deal with it however we want after Shari graduates. Don’t you think?” Wallace said, his calculating side on full display.
For now, agreeing to the engagement was simply a way to secure the invitation. When the time came, the eight brothers would break it off and take all the blame, ensuring their little sister remained completely uninvolved.
Marvin nodded. “Wally, you’re amazing. Most people would be too scared to scheme against the Baxter family.”
A few days passed, and Sharon had stayed home, recovering from her injuries.
Nothing had been found about the identity of Niko, the legendary racer.
Every time she thought about it, Sharon got furious. She swore to herself, ‘Once I am fully healed, I will resume training and regain my skills.
‘Next time I cross paths with that man, I won’t lose again. That bastard had the nerve to touch me–I will chop his hand off.”
The Race of Champions had ended, but the champion was neither Niko nor Solar Flare. After all, the two had jumped out of their cars and fought in the
canyon.

Chapter 46
The rumors about their love hate relationship were how spreading everywhere.
Some people said Niko and Solar Flare were a couple and had a past together. Others claimed that the Solar Flare had disappeared for Mynstoke a baby, and that the child was definitely Niko’s.
There were even fanfiction stories about the two of them circulating online, with tons of people following them.
At the same time, the Atlantis Hotel made an announcement: they would close the hotel for one day to prepare for an upcoming party. This news shocked everyone.
People had already been shocked that Sharon’s coming–of–age party would be held in the Queen’s Hall at the Atlantis Hotel, and they had wondered what had happened during the time the eight Vance brothers had disappeared.
But now came the most jaw–dropping twist–the Atlantis Hotel was clearing out the whole place.
Since its opening, the hotel had never closed its doors for any event. Even when people had requested it, the hotel had always refused.
This prompted many to ponder who exactly Sharon was and whether the Vance brothers had indeed attained such a level of influence.
As opportunists by nature, those who had initially planned to skip the party or just watch from the sidelines changed their minds and started picking out gifts for the coming–of–age ceremony.
Wayne and his family would likely soon turn their focus onto the eight brothers.
Right now, the situation at the Vance Mansion was worsening by the minute.
Numerous high–ranking martial artists were stationed there, yet they couldn’t fend off the endless waves of assassins. The constant attacks were pushing the Vance family members to the brink of a mental breakdown.
Karen sobbed, “Wayne, you have to go talk to Mr. Nicholas Baxter. If this goes on, how will we ever survive?”
Madeline said, “Our family and the Baxter family had good relations in the past. They wouldn’t go this far over Shraon, that nobody, would they?”
Wayne rubbed his temples and finally turned to Roxanne. “Grandma, what do you think?”
Roxanne snorted. “This has everything to do with the Baxter family. Let’s go talk to them. If they don’t fix it, I’ll stay in their house and never leave.”
The Vance family stormed to the Baxter Estate. Roxanne made a scehe until she finally managed to get inside, but unfortunately, she didn’t even get to meet anyone of importance.
Edward was recovering, Arnold was away, and Nicholas was at school.
But Roxanne just sighed in relief. “It doesn’t matter that we didn’t meet the Baxters. Let’s settle in and wait. Those people won’t dare to cause trouble
here.”
She thought, ‘I’m sure the Baxter family is behind this. If they don’t take care of it, I won’t leave. Our family isn’t easy to push around.
Karen’s mood improved. She sneaked out to gather information about Nicholas but saw maids carrying many beautiful dresses, jewelry, and other things. Her eyes lit up, and she hurried over. “Are these clothes for us?”
She thought, ‘So the Baxter family is being smart after all, trying to make up for their past mistreatment of our family. These dresses are gorgeous, and the more I look, the more I like them.‘
“Sorry, Ms. Vance. These aren’t for you,” a maid replied.
“Not for us? But who else in the Baxter family would wear dresses like these?” asked Karen.
Edward had only one child, Arnold, and one grandchild, Nicholas. The three of them lived at the Baxter Estate, along with Arnold’s wife, the only woman in the household. So when Karen heard this, she couldn’t help but wonder if Nicholas had fallen for some girl.

“Karen, shut up!” Wayne barked. He appeared just in time to hear his sister’s cotragaans remarks and quickly crapped in to see the them herself further.
