Chapter 45
In fear, Cameron and his friends immediately fell shant. It was fare to
Sharon this angry, and this time, she also looked audiatras
No one knew exactly what had happened between Sharon and Micholas in the small woods, and no one dared to ask
Sharon finally calmed down and said, “Let’s go back first. We need to find out who that bastard is. She was determined to get rid of fie man named
Niko.
Sharon arrived at the agreed location by helicopter, and Joan was already waiting for her.
Sharon removed her red wig, letting her long hair fall over her shoulders. Her makeup was a bit smudged.
“Ms. Vance, let me help you take off your makeup,” Joan offered. Without asking any questions, she walked over with the tools and began to lean Sharon’s face.
Once her makeup was removed, she looked like the obedient, docile person she usually was, but her eyes still carried a deadly edge. When she saw the driver, she raised an eyebrow. “So you have made up your mind?”
“Yes, Ms. Vance, I’ve made up my mind,” Greg said respectfully, nodding. He was now Sharon’s personal driver, completely loyal to her.
“Good. I’ll arrange for someone to protect your family, so don’t worry. You can’t go back to your peaceful life anymore,” said Sharon.
The things Greg had seen at the Vance Mansion were enough to bring him trouble. The Vance family wouldn’t let him off the hook.
Greg understood this well, which was why he chose to work for Sharon. If it weren’t for her, he never would have survived the monsters back then.
Sharon got into the car and changed into a different outfit. She pulled out her phone and saw the news about the race–Two Legendary Drivers Jump From Their Cars, Their Lives in the Balance.”
She tutted and thought, ‘What a pity. That bastard is still alive. He ambushed me in the canyon–what an asshole.”
She turned off her phone and took a nap. Upon returning home, she walked into the living room and paused. “What’s going on with you guys?”
All eight of her brothers were sitting in there, looking at her with very complex expressions.
Sharon couldn’t help but wonder, ‘My secret identities have been exposed? That’s impossible.‘ Feeling a little guilty, she unconsciously looked at her second brother, Wallace. Her eyes were soft, making anyone’s heart melt.
After three seconds of silence, Wallace let out a resigned sigh. “Shari, where did you go?”
“I went out for a walk,” Sharon replied.
“Why didn’t you take a bodyguard with you? You disappeared in the Atlantis Hotel, and our people have been looking for you everywhere,” Wallace said.
Sharon knew exactly what the problem was. She pressed her lips together and replied, “Joan was with me. Nothing would’ve happened.”
She understood why her brothers had been waiting for her–they’d almost figured everything out. She looked at them pitifully, her voice soft and sweet as she said, “I’m sorry.”
“Alright, alright, we forgive you,” Wallace and his other brothers said. There was no way they could stay mad at their cute little sister.
They had all agreed to scold Sharon with a straight face when she got back. But they couldn’t bring themselves to do it.
Their little sister was so sweet, obedient, and sensible–she would never do anything bad in secret. They were sure it must have b misunderstanding on their part.
Richard quickly softened his expression. He walked over, patted Sharon on the head, and said, “Don’t be upset. We’re not mad, we were just worried.

“I know,” Sharon said. “I’m a little tired from shopping today. Can I go rest in my room now?”
“Of course, go ahead. Don’t stay up too late,” Richard said.
Sharon nodded and returned to her foom. Once inside, she unbuttoned her clothes, revealing a wound on her waist that had already souted to bazn
“Ms. Vance, you’re hurt!” Joan exclaimed.
“Shut up!” Sharon’s gaze turned sharp. “Get the first–aid kit. And keep it quiet. Got it?”
Joan nodded quickly and rushed to grab the kit. When she came back, she saw Sharon standing in front of the bathroom mirror. The wound on her slender waist stood out sharply.
“Ms. Vance, you should go see a doctor. That could leave a scar,” Joan said. Her hands were trembling. If Richard and the others found out about this,
she’d be in deep trouble.
“Idiot, haven’t you dealt with wounds before?” Sharon scoffed.
“But… but you’re different,” replied Joan.
Sharon didn’t bother to respond. She grabbed the supplies and disinfected the wound with practiced ease, not needing Joan’s help.
After wrapping a bandage around her waist, she finally sighed in relief. “My brothers might ask you some questions. Don’t let anything slip, or you can forget about working for me.”
Joan looked conflicted. “Your brothers are very harsh.”
“Are they harsher than I am?” Sharon’s icy gaze held undeniable authority. “You work for me, so you’ll follow my orders.”
“Yes, Ms. Vance. I won’t let anything slip,” Joan replied, nodding. Meanwhile, she thought, ‘Ms. Vance holds a special status. Once she decides to speak the truth, I probably won’t be in such a dilemma anymore.”
After Sharon took her medicine and fell asleep, Joan quietly left the room, only to be stopped at the door, just as she had expected.
In a relaxed manner, Marvin said, “So, what did Ms. Vance do this afternoon and evening? I don’t want to hear any lies.”
Joan swallowed nervously, instinctively hiding the medical kit behind her back as she struggled to find an excuse.
Marvin’s gaze dropped to the kit she was holding, his expression instantly darkening. “She’s hurt?”
Joan looked torn.
Marvin immediately wanted to open the door and get in, but Joan said, “Ms. Vance is asleep. She doesn’t like anyone barging into her room.”
-Joan had always taken care of the cleaning in Sharon’s room, and no other maids were allowed in.
Marvin stopped dead in his tracks and then yanked Joan into the living room. A few of his brothers were still around.
Richard’s face twisted with concern when he saw the medical kit. “Shari is hurt?”
Joan stammered, clearly flustered, “Ms. Vance was… was accidentally scratched by a leaf. She put on a band–aid. It’s no big deal.” She knew that if they found out Sharon had stitches, they would make a huge deal out of it.
“Then why didn’t she say anything earlier?” Richard pressed on, his tone sharp. “You’re lying. I didn’t see any injury to her hand earlier.” Joan opened her mouth, but no words came out. Finally, she managed to say, “She didn’t want to worry you, so she didn’t say anyt…… “You’re lying!” Patrick glared at her. “You know your place, don’t you? How dare you lie to your employers? You’ve got some nerve, Joan.”

“I wouldn’t dare,” Joan replied, bracing herself. “I know iny place, But right now, I only work for Ms. Vance, you’re no longer my employe that only by siding with Sharon could she have a chance.
A long silence followed, and sweat began to bead on Joan’s forehead.
Finally, Wallace broke the silence with a smile. “I must say, Sharl has done a fine job training you. That was quite the speech. You’re right than is your boss now. But we’re just concerned about her safety, not meddling in her private life.”
“Why can’t we do that?” Richard was displeased. “She’s still young. We can’t let anyone hurt her. I won’t allow this to happen again.
“She’s already an adult.” Wallace raised his head, meeting everyone’s eyes. “Richard, we need to respect her privacy. We’ve also kept things from her ourselves.”
“That’s different!” Richard snapped. Somehow, he was sure that others would bully his sister, and the mere thought made his blood boil
Wallace didn’t respond. He looked at Joan and said, “I’ll ask you a few questions. Just nod or shake your head. Has Ms. Vance been involved in anything dangerous?”
Joan gritted her teeth and then firmly shook her head. For Sharon, she had no choice but to lie.
