Chapter 42
Nestled in the mountain valleys on the outskirts of Kerions, the Grand Canyon Baking Base was the largest professional racetrack in the King ( packed with racing enthusiasts competing here every day. The podarity was off the charts
But today, as soon as the vehicles exited the outer ring highway, traffic came to a standen!!
The reason was simple: Solar Flare, the once missing racing queen, and the legendary driver Nike deere both making an appearance today for a high stakes race–a showdown between two kings.
But many were skeptical. After all, for the past five years, there had been tumors of the two great drivers return, only for each one to form out to be false alarm. After so many disappointments, many fans had stopped believing it.
Even so, fans in Aerions and nearby areas made their way to the event with excitement. Even if the race didn’t happen, there were plenty of other talented drivers participating, so it was still worth the trip.
The venue was packed with people.
In the VIP room on the second floor, Nicholas frowned as he watched the surveillance feed outside. “Why are there so many people?”
With this many people, making a move later would be difficult.
“Nick, that’s because you and Solar Flare are too famous. A lot of people came just to see you two. But don’t worry. Only the drivers can get to the area where we’ll be making our move. We’ve arranged for several drivers to help you out.”
Nicholas nodded, his expression turning more serious. He turned his head slightly and said, “Get my makeup ready.”
The legendary racer Niko always wore camouflage paint on his face along with a mask, ensuring no one could see his real face.
“Nick, Look! Isn’t that your fiancée?” one of the men called out excitedly.
Nicholas stood up and saw a helicopter land in the designated area. A girl with waist–length hair stepped out, her eyes full of curiosity as she took in her surroundings. ‘What’s she doing here?‘ he thought, confused.
Soon, a few men crowded around Nicholas. Someone said, “Wow, so that’s Niko’s fiancée? She’s adorable.”
“She’s like an angel who accidentally wandered into the human world–so beautiful, so pure. She’s totally my dream girl!” another echoed.
“Nick, if you don’t like her, can I pursue her?” someone else asked.
Nicholas’s cold gaze landed on him. “What did you just say?”
The guy coughed nervously and said, “Nothing. I didn’t say anything.” He thought, ‘Oh man, Nick’s angry. So this is the type of girl he likes.”
Brent leaned in. “What now, Nick? Are you going to go say hi to her?”
Nicholas’s brow twitched. “I’ll go take a look.”
With all the drama surrounding the Vance family and Sharon’s coming–of–age ceremony, everyone’s eyes were on Sharon today.
This place was a chaotic mix of people, and Sharon didn’t have any high–ranking martial artists around her for protection. So Nicholas couldn’t help but worry that someone might try to hurt her.
He was usually indifferent to women, but now he was fretting over his fiancée like a worried parent.
Besides, Sharon looked so fragile, with those innocent eyes that made other people want to take care of everything for her.
Nicholas headed straight for the building across the way. As the surveillance feed quickly appeared on David’s computer, he turned to Sharon and said,

“Shan, there’s a man here.”
“I don’t want to see him,” replied Sharon.
Uh, you know him.”
Looking upset, Shamn turned to look at the screen. Her expression instantly softened when

“Whoa, Shari, your fiancé is really handsome. He’s like the perfect gentleman polished, proper, and giving off that raserved vine”
Sharon thought for a moment before addressing her team, “You guys head inside first. Joan, stay here*
No matter what, now that Nicholas was here, there was no doubt he knew she was, too. Luckily, she hadn’t exposed herself early on. She feler expected
to run into someone she knew here.
The door opened, and Joan said respectfully, “Mr. Baxter, Ms. Vance is inside.”
Nicholas walked in, still wearing a white shirt. He scanned the room, noticing the three people who had been with Sharon earlier were no longer aband
“Fancy meeting you here,” Sharon spoke first, her voice sweet and soft.
The suspicion in Nicholas’s eyes faded. He looked at her and asked, “You like watching car races?”
“Yeah, I heard it’s really lively here, so I thought I’d check it out. But I came in secret. If my brothers find out, it might get a bit out of hand. So, could you keep it a secret for me?”
Nicholas hadn’t expected Sharon, a well–behaved girl, to enjoy such a thrilling activity.
He nodded and said, “Alright. But there are no bodyguards around you. I’ll have a few of my guys stand guard outside. Don’t go down unless you really have to–there are too many people, and it’s easy to get into trouble, especially for someone like you.”
To him, Sharon looked like an easy mark–cute and innocent.
Sharon’s eyes twinkled as she smiled. “Thank you.”
The brief exchange ended, and the hall fell into silence.
Sharon suddenly spoke up again. “Are you here to watch the race too?”
“Yeah, a friend of mine is competing. I came to support them. I’m staying in the building next to yours.” Nicholas lied smoothly without a change in his expression.
Sharon nodded, realizing why she’d been spotted as soon as she arrived–he’d been right next door.
The hall lapsed into silence once more.
“What kind of gift do you like?” Nicholas suddenly asked, catching Sharon off guard. She blinked in confusion.
Nicholas cleared his throat and continued, “Your coming–of–age party is next week. What kind of gift would you like?”
He’d been thinking for a while but couldn’t figure out what girls wanted, especially someone as sweet and adorable as Sharon.
After all, before meeting Sharon, he’d never really had a girlfriend. There were the strong girls at Oriston Academy, but there were also girls like Sharon—- the kind who could melt his heart with just a glance.
Sharon hadn’t expected him to ask this. She thought for a moment and then seriously replied, “As long as it’s from you, I’ll like it.”
Nicholas’s gaze flicked up, and after a brief pause, he said, “I see.” Then he glanced at his watch. “I’ll head over now. Call me if you need anything-

“Teach us how you do it–how do we get a girl like that to be our girlfriend?” someone else echoed
Nicholas’s face was covered in camouflage paint, his eyes sharp and commanding. “Shut up. The race is starting soon!”
The men scattered instantly, getting ready for the race.
In the neighboring building, Sharon was also doing her makeup, going for a Disney Queen of Hearts look. She wore a thin mask, gently pressed to
face.
“Shari, you were flirting with that man earlier. Didn’t you always say you only flirted with girls?” one of Sharon’s friends asked.
“Exactly. That guy asked what gift you wanted, and you said, ‘As long as it’s from you, I’ll like it!‘ Ugh, you couldn’t think of an answer and just line out there. Shari, that was very inappropriate,” another person chimed in.
Sharon raised an eyebrow, her gaze brimming with confidence. “I can charm both men and women. Got a problem with that?”
She wore a wig and had her eyes done up in the style of upturned eyes, making her look completely different.
Suddenly, Cameron’s expression turned serious. “Shari, the legendary driver Niko has appeared.”
