Chapter 64
Let go for me, Augustin commanded, his voice strained with his own building release. One hand moved between us, his thumb finding and circling that sensitive bundle of nerves in precise, firmotions that had me crying out.
My walls began to contract violently around him, the first pulses of my impending release making both of us gasp, The muscles in my thighs trembled uncontrollably as I chased the peak that was just out of reach.
“Look at me,” he demanded. “I want to see your eyes when you come apart for me.”
I forced my heavy eyelids open, meeting his gaze just as the dam broke. I came with shattering force, my entire body convulsing as waves of ecstasy crashed through me. My inner muscles clamped down on his hardness in rhythmic pulses, milking him as I cried out his name.
The sight of my release triggered his own. Feeling my orgasm, he growled deeply and gripped my hips with bruising force, holding me firmly in place as he buried himself impossibly deep inside me. His powerful body tensed beneath mine as he pulsed his hot seed into my welcoming depths, his face with pleasure.
“Juno,” he groaned. “My Juno.”
Afterward, trembling and sated, he held me close against him, our bodies still joined intimately. His head rested against my chest, his lips occasionally brushing against the sensitive skin of my breasts as we remained tightly embraced. His strong hands stroked up and down my back in gentle.
He eventually looked up at me, his eyes soft with satisfaction yet bright with promise and barely banked passion. The possessive tenderness in his gaze made my heart clench painfully in my chest.
I was afraid. Afraid fate would take him from me just as it had taken Matthew. I couldn’t bring myself to say the words back, even though my heart screamed them.
“Don’t make promises you can’t keep,” I whispered, my lips trembling
“I never do,” he replied firmly. “I know I’ll keep this one. Before I met you, I never thought my heart would beat for anyone, or that I would feel this way. You’ve made the impossible possible.”
“Trust me,” he begged. “Take this step with me. I know it’s a lot to ask, but give me a chance.”
Who was I kidding? My heart was already fully invested in this relationship. I decided to go all in.
“I love you too, Augustin,” I finally admitted. “Please don’t break what’s left of my heart. I don’t think I could survive another
rejection.”
I promised to stay even if given the chance to leave. “I choose to be with you. I’m giving you my heart. If fate interferes with what we have, I’ll step aside without hesitation because I chose you. Just don’t make me share your love. Don’t make me regret this
decision.”
Augustin wrapped me in his embrace, his scent enveloping me.
“I want to go all the way with you, Juno,” he whispered against my hair. “I want to settle down, have children, live together. I want to build a life with you, if you’ll let me.”
I nodded, because I wanted those things too. Despite everything fate had taken from me, I still wanted them.
“Don’t listen to rumors or compare yourself to people from my past, he urged. “What we have is different. It’s unique and new.”

Chapter 64
He kissed me then, claiming my mouth once more as we made love again under the star–filled sky,
My spirits lifted, my worries dissipating like morning mist under the sun.
As I drifted toward sleep in Augustin’s arms, I decided that for once he was worth the risk. Worth facing my fears.
