Juno’s POV
wave making a fool of yourself with these Forestvale women, Evanth hissed. They should be prisoners, not your companions
“What I do is none of your concern. Augustin replied.
We re betraying everything Father dreamed of! The four regions were meant to serve us, not be our equals
Times change. So do dreams.
“Mother is devastated that you would parade your little tributes around Asgotia before even visiting her. She expected better from you
Is that why you’re here? To deliver Mother’s grievances?”
Evanth stepped closer, his face twisted with rage. “I’m here to remind you that you can be removed as Alpha King if deemed unfit. And this behavior makes you look weak and foolish.”
“Careful, brother. My position isn’t because of some election–it’s because of power and bloodline, Augustin warned.
“I saw you in the crowd with that red–haired wolf–whore,” Evanth spat. “Dancing like common animals. Is that how an Alpha King behaves?”
Augustin’s control snapped. He grabbed Evanth by the collar, shoving him against the wall. The entire VIP section went quiet.
“Don’t you ever call her that again,” Augustin growled.
Instead of cowering, Evanth smiled. “Hit a nerve, did I? Why won’t you find Cassandra and make her your Luna Queen like Mother and Father always wanted? Or are you too busy playing with your tribute?”
“You’re walking a dangerous line,” Augustin warned.
“You’re disgracing the Levenston name by putting your cock in-”
Augustin’s power slammed through the VIP section, a wave of pure Alpha rage that made everyone cower. I felt my knees weaken under the pressure of it.
Maybe I need to step in before this gets worse.
I moved forward, gently touching Augustin’s arm. His muscles were coiled tight, ready to strike.
Calm down, my Alpha. He’s deliberately provoking you, I whispered through our mate link.
Augustin’s eyes flicked to mine, then back to his brother. “I am the Alpha King of Clifflands,” he said. “You will watch your tongue when speaking about me or any of my mate. The next time you show such disrespect, there will be consequences.”
The blonde woman from the bathroom appeared, grasping Evanth’s hand. So they were in this together. Her bathroom confrontation had been deliberate.
“Mother wants to see you, Evanth said, straightening his jacket. “Don’t bring your filth back home.”
*I’ll visit when I choose,” Augustin replied coldly. “And I’ll bring whoever I damn well please. My role as Alpha King gives me that freedom.”
“And what about Fang’s threats?” Evanth demanded. “Will you handle those as casually as you handle everything else?”
‘I’ll deal with Fang when the time is right.”
Evanth looked at me. “Don’t be fooled, little tribute. You won’t be his only bedmate for long.”
I laughed, surprising everyone. “That’s rich coming from you. At least my bed is warm with an Alpha who desires me. I’d rather be here with Augustin than treated like an actual prisoner of war

Chapter 54
Evanth’s eyes widened. He clearly hadn’t expected.
I returned to my seat beside Augustin, who immediately placed his arm around me. When Evanth tried to approach again, Berylock and Adrys musterialized, blocking his path.
Augustin appeared calm, but I could feel the turmoil churning inside him.
We’re leaving, he announced after Evanth finally departed.
The ride back to Levenston Manor was silent, both of us lost in our thoughts.
In out bedroom, I emerged from the shower wearing only one of Augustin’s t–shirts. I could sense his worry and anger still simmering beneath the surface.
I crawled onto the bed behind him where he sat on the edge, his head in his hands. Wrapping my arms around his strong torso, I pressed my cheek against
his back.
‘Don’t let him get to you, I murmured, kissing his shoulder. “Nothing he said changes anything between us.
