Chapter 37
Juno’s POV
“This is Obedience 101, Augustin announced, smacking my ass as he carried me through the halls. I yelped in surprise.
“We haven’t even eaten breakfast,” 1 protested. “I’m hungry.”
He smacked my backside again. “That wasn’t the right answer.”
I wanted to laugh because the situation was oddly exc
But I bit my tongue.
People throughout Levenston Manor stared as we passed, Even Eliza and her followers appeared in the hallway, watch the commotion.

reached my room, pushing the door open with his foot and carrying me inside. He tossed me onto the bed, and I scrambled back until my spine hit the headboard.
“Lunas have never needed to be obedient,” he said, unbuttoning his shirt. “So this will be your first lesson.”
He pulled off his shirt, revealing his perfectly sculpted body and the beautiful tattoo that extended up his neck. His eyes darkened, which worried me–it meant his wolf was present too.
He climbed onto the bed, moving toward me like a predator.
“I let you off last night because you were grieving,” he said, his voice husky. “But today, you pushed too far.”
He studied my face carefully. “Is that jealousy I see in those blue–green eyes? Does it have something to do with the lipstick on my face?”
I closed my eyes and turned away.
“I thought so,” he said, grazing his teeth along my neck. “Do you want to punish me for it?”
I didn’t answer, but my body responded for me, my legs trembling. I’d never experienced this kind of this boldness.
Suddenly, his demeanor changed. He climbed off the bed, his eyes showing his shift in thinking. Disappointment flooded me, though I tried not to show it.
“I’m having your wardrobe changed permanently,” he announced. “No more revealing clothes.”
“Afraid I’ll get you too excited to control yourself?” I challenged, hiding my frustration.
“You are mine now,” he said simply.
I growled at him in frustration. I felt Seraphine rising to the surface and I knew he could see my wolf eyes.
“That’s not fair to tease like that,” I said.
Be a good girl, and I’ll reward you,” he said with a smirk, then left the
I sat fuming on the bed. He’d interrupted breakfast only to do nothing, and he’d clearly realized the lipstick mark had made me jealous.

I climbed off the bed and changed into shorts and a t–shirt, needing feel more covered. As I dressed, I remembered my letter to Matthew. I grabbed it from the nightstand and headed back to the dining room.
To my surprise, Augustin had returned as if nothing had happened. s smugness irritated me further.
I tried sitting beside Freya, but Adryx stopped me, gesturing toward the seat next to Augustin instead.
“Feeling better?” Augustin asked pleasantly.
I glared at him, saying nothing as I ate. When he stood to leave, I followed him out.
“Augustin,” I called after him in the hallway.
He turned, raising an eyebrow at my formal tone.
“I have a request,” said carefully, “and I don’t want you to think I’m taking advantage of your kindness, or that I’m being rebellious or ungrateful.”
He frowned.
“Would you help me send a letter to Matthew?” I asked quickly. “You can read it; there’s nothing threatening to security. I just want him to move on with his life.”
Augustin’s eyes darkened. He grabbed my arm and pulled me toward his office. Once inside, he closed the door firmly.
“Don’t abuse your privileges,” he said angrily. “No one here is allowed to communicate with loved ones outside. That’s precisely the point of the rules, and I won’t make an exception for you.”
My heart cracked a little. I didn’t think I was asking for too much–just a chance to say goodbye.
“The other tributes had a chance to say goodbye to their loved ones, I said quietly. “I didn’t. Matthew was unconscious when I was
taken.”
“That concerns me even more,” he said, pacing. “How do I know this letter doesn’t contain codes or information about Clifflands?”
“I’m sorry for asking,” I said, backing toward the door. “I won’t do it again.”
“Answer my question,” he insisted.
I pulled out the letter and handed it to him. “Judge for yourself. I’m sure you have code experts who can determine if I’m selling
secrets.”
He read the letter slowly, shame appearing in his eyes. I suspected he had trust issues.
“I’ll send it,” he finally said, “but this is the last time. And no one can know about this.”
“Thank you,” I said, suddenly realizing that no matter how comfortable or kind this place was, I remained a

On my way back to my room, I encountered Eliza and her friends blocking the corridor.

“Look who it is,” Eliza said naştily. “The Alpha King couldn’t stand the sight of your ugly body, so he made you cover up.”

I tried to walk around them, but they moved to block my path. I really wasn’t in the mood for this.
“Do you want to know how that mark got on his face this morning? Eliza asked, smirking.
Before I could respond, a growl erupted behind me. I didn’t need to turn to know who it was.
“Eliza! My office. Now, Augustin roared at Eliza.
I took the opportunity to slip away. I didn’t want to imagine what would happen in that office,
After everything with Matthew, I should have developed thicker skin but Augustin affected me, I didn’t understand why, but he tugged at something inside me.
Back in my room, I realized I was jealous because of himi I knew I was still grieving, but I couldn’t understand why he always controlled himself around me. It made me feel unattractive.
This should have been the least of my concerns, but I was petty like that, it’s a byproduct of sitting around the castle all day with nothing to do.
When the time came to meet Augustin at the stables, I headed there. Instead, I found only him and two horses.
Augustin smiled as he walked toward me, fully equipped for riding. He handed me riding gear, which I accepted with a quiet “Thank
you.”
Despite my lingering anger about Eliza, I kept silent, thinking I might punish him for it later.
“Do you know how to ride?” he asked.
Though I tried not to let my mind go in that direction, it went there anyway.
“Of course I do,” I replied.
He laughed.
