Jane’s POV
I went back to the hospital, and soon my parents and Leo arrived.
I pretended to ask, “Mom, Dad, you’re here! Have you seen Viola? I called her to ask about the company, but she didn’t answer.”
Dad shook his head, looking upset. “That girl… After handing over the company, she still throws tantrums? Just wait till I teach her a lesson! Doesn’t she realize how much work goes into a transfer? And now she won’t even pick up her phone?”
As Dad spoke, he called Viola. At first, the call went through. But by the third try, it went straight to voicemail.
Dad frowned. “Now she’s turned her phone off! Pulling a disappearing act, huh?”
“She must be throwing another tantrum, no doubt. Who even knows what set her off this time? Years of this drama, and she still
hasn’t outgrown it!”
Mom also snatched up her phone, fingers jabbing at the screen as she fired off a terse message. [Viola, get back here. Now.]
It was clear to me that my parents were growing increasingly frustrated with Viola.
