Chapter 38
So when Victoria first discovered she had been reborn, she was incredibly happy. She thought this must be heaven giving her another chance.
But this time, Riley didn’t have a car accident. Victoria kept waiting for them to break up, but instead, their wedding approached.
Unable to accept this, Victoria, on the day before their wedding, drove her car at Riley for the first time.
Riley died, and Victoria was imprisoned by Nathaniel. Despondent, Victoria initially wanted to commit suicide, but she couldn’t bring herself to do it.
Amazingly, Victoria discovered that during her captivity, Nathaniel gradually fell in love with her.
Nathaniel tortured her but would never let her go. He hated Victoria but, in the process, found himself helplessly falling in
love with her.
Just when she thought she had finally won Nathaniel’s love again, Nathaniel killed himself.
He couldn’t accept loving Victoria, hated himself for betraying Riley, and in his growing depression, he ended his life.
It was from this experience that Victoria began to hate Riley.
At this point in her story, Riley glanced at Victoria. Tears flowed from her cloudy eyes, and though her lips curled upward, her eyes were full of hatred and sorrow.
Having lost all hope, Victoria followed Nathaniel in suicide, only to find herself back in their college days.
From here, the story became what they already knew.
Victoria, resentful of Riley, drove her car at her for the second time. But Riley didn’t die, and Victoria was once again imprisoned by Nathaniel.
She remained confident because she knew Nathaniel’s feelings toward her would change during her captivity.
But she hadn’t anticipated Riley choosing to jump from the rooftop, still dying the day before the wedding.
Originally, she thought things would be different because Nathaniel suddenly released her. She believed it was because Nathaniel loved her and couldn’t bear to keep torturing her.
But Nathaniel never saw her again. Even when she died, Nathaniel didn’t appear.
So this time, she again chose to drive her car at Riley, and when it didn’t succeed the first time, she tried again…
“So you see, Riley,” Victoria looked up at the standing Riley, her eyes full of despair and desolation. “How could I not hate you? The happiness I once had–it was mine originally…”
Victoria not only hated Riley, she also hated fate for giving her chance after chance, yet never allowing her to achieve what she
wanted.

Chapter 38
“But let it end here… I’m tired.” Victoria turned her head with a bleak smile, her eyes now showing nothing but defeat.
After hearing all this, Riley smiled genuinely: “Victoria, you’ve simply reaped what you sowed. This is just karma.”
Then she bent down and softly said to Nathaniel, “Let’s go.”
Nathaniel nodded, allowing Riley to push him out. He didn’t want to comment on Victoria’s story. Whether those events had truly happened or not, they had nothing to do with who he was now.
As they reached the door, Riley smiled and said, “Finally, we’re free.”
Her voice carried genuine relief and peace.
Nathaniel smiled too. Yes, they could finally be together without worry.
