Chapter 11
The day of the wedding was approaching, and the arrangements were being made for a very large wedding ceremony as Alphas from other packs were going to be invited, except Jerry.
I was on the phone with Astrid, discussing some of the arrangements when someone knocked on the door. I absentmindedly walked to the door, still discussing with Astrid as I opened the door.
I was surprised to see Jerry’s parents waiting for me at the door. I blinked in shock.
“Umm, Astrid. Let me call you back.” I said to the phone, and disconnected the call.
“Mr. Collins, Mrs. Collins,” I greeted, stepping aside for them to enter. “Please come in.”
Dante had stepped out a few moments ago.
I offered to get them drinks, but they politely refused. We sat down for a minute in uncomfortable silence.
“So… you’re getting married.” Mrs. Collins started, giving me a sad smile.
“I-” I opened my mouth to speak, but she shook her head, cutting me off.
“No, you don’t have to explain anything, we heard everything.” She said with a resigned sigh.
Mr. Collins nodded his head. “Did he really sleep with your sister?” He asked. From his eyes, I could see that he was wishing that it wasn’t true.
I nodded slowly with a sigh, and he closed his eyes, and nodded sadly.
Mrs. Collins‘ eyes welled up with tears. “We’re so sorry about Jerry, Valerie. We had no idea. We really wanted you to be our daughter–in–law.” She admitted softly.
“I cannot believe he would throw away all that you two had just for…” she trailed off, glaring intc the distance.
Finally, after discussing several things, Mrs. Collins blurted out. “We need a favour.”
tensed slightly, worried of whatever favour she would need from me.
“You know that Jerry is still our son, even with his misbehavior, we still love him and want the best for him. We know you rejected Jerry, because he slept with your sister.” She started, glancing at her mate.
I watched them suspiciously, wondering where she was heading.
“We don’t want him to be alone, so we want him to take your sister.” She declared.
I released a small sigh of relief. “Okay, it’s not a problem.”
She shook her head. “But your sister is cursed by the moonfire curse, and she will die very soon, leaving Jerry alone again.”
I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion. I was lost.
“We’ve heard that Alpha Dante has strong connections with powerful witches. Please we need you to talk to him to help Nancy, so she could be cured.” She informed me.
Their request wasn’t a hard one, but I didn’t promise them anything. I just told them that I would

try my best. They were grateful nonetheless, and thanked me profusely.
A few minutes later, there was a knock on the door again. I furrowed my eyebrows. Maybe it was Jerry’s parents, they might have forgotten something. I thought to myself.
However, as I opened the door, it wasn’t Jerry’s parents, but a blonde lady with striking blue eyes We stared at each other for a minute. Who was she? I wondered.
She lifted an eyebrow at me, looking me up and down. “Can I come in?” She asked.
I tilted my head. “I’m sorry, who are you?” I asked.
She sneered at me. “I should be asking you that question because I live here, and I don’t know you.” She claimed.
I stared at her in disbelief. Who was she? And why was she lying that she lived here?
Before I could respond, Dante’s car stopped in front of the house, and he stepped down with a smile on his face.
Immediately he noticed the blonde lady, his smile faded, and his eyes darkened.
“What are you doing here, Claire?” He growled.
Her name rang a bell in my head. I remembered her instantly. She was Dante’s ex–mate, who had cheated on him, and he had rejected her.
What was she doing here? Why was she claiming to live here?
