Jasmine’s POV
smiled warmly at her. “Hey Kate, come in.” I said, stepping aside for her to enter. Kate was my very good friend, and Beta Richard’s mate.
‘I heard what happened, Jas. I’m so sorry.” She muttered, and embraced me tightly.
returned her hug with a deep sigh. “It’s alright, Kate. I’ll be fine.”
Kate insisted we take a walk to our favorite spot in the pack, so that I could give her the details of how it all happened. Kate had a disgusted sneer on her face when I finished.
‘I can’t believe that he is my alpha, and I still have to respect him. Richard doesn’t even want to be his beta anymore.” She exclaimed. “You never said anything all these while, Jas. You kept acting like everything was fine. Nobody would have ever suspected.”
I shrugged. “I guess I was trying to deceive myself that things will get better, while they kept getting worse.”
“If there is anything you need, anything at all, Jas. Please don’t hesitate to ask.” She pleaded, and I nodded, feeling much better.
As I walked back, I saw Liam rushing into the house, and I sighed. I was too exhausted to deal
with him.
Liam was staring in disbelief at my boxes and luggage that I had begun packing. He turned to me with a slightly crazed look in his eyes. His eyes were red, and his hair was disheveled.
“Jas? What are you doing?” He demanded with a croaky voice, grabbing my hand forcefully.
I yanked my hand back. “What does it look like? I’m packing.” I replied coldly, zipping one of the boxes close.
Tears welled up in his eyes, and his lips trembled slightly. “Don’t tell me you’re leaving me,” he pleaded with a shaky voice.
I scoffed, walking to the other bags to make sure all I needed were in them. “Just accept the rejection, Liam, and save yourself the pain you’re currently going through.”
Because he hadn’t accepted the rejection, he would keep going through pain till he accepted the rejection, except I withdrew my rejection.
He shook his head, and stepped closer to me. “Jas, I can’t…can’t lose you. I love you so much Jas.”
I snorted in amusement. “Really? What about your precious darling Mira? I thought you wanted her so much. This is an opportunity. You can finally claim her as your mate like you’ve always wanted.”
“No, no, it’s not like that. Please Jas, don’t leave me. I was just trying to be there for her, and you didn’t allow me have sex and-”
I scowled. “Are you saying it’s my fault that you cheated? Because I didn’t allow you to have sex with me because I was pregnant, and the doctor said it was risky?
His eyes widened as he realized what he had said. “No, no. That’s not what I meant…” he pleaded.

“Liam, I’m leaving, nothing you say will change it.” I said firmly with finality in my tone.
Liam grabbed me by my hand again as I turned to leave, and he fell to his knees with an expression of helplessness.
“I am sorry for causing the death of our child, Jas. Believe me, if I can turn back time, I will go and change everything. I never meant to hurt you. Please don’t leave me, we can try again for another child.” He begged, his eyes shining with unshed tears.
I glared at him venomously. “Try again? Hell no! Go meet Mira for another child, because nobody in their right senses will agree to have another child for you.” I spat in obvious disgust.
Liam didn’t say anything to defend himself. He just knelt there, holding my hand with a pleading look on his face.
