Chapter 51
Rishima was completely awakened by Zvonimir. The wild, domineering breaths of the male wolf enveloped her, filling the room with bis heavy panting and her own bored gasps.
Perhaps it was because she was running a fever that Rishima had no strength to resist, though deep within her, she was both furious and shaken.
Her trembling wasn’t out of love for him but merely a response to the scent of the male wolf overpowering her rationality. Rishima struggled with all her might to pull away from Zvonimir.
“Uncomfortable?” Zvonimir impatiently pinched Rishima’s face, forcing her to look at him.
“Uhm.” Rishima pushed him away, lowering her gaze to avoid his aggressive stare. “I have a headache. Let me sleep for a bit.”
Zvonimir, dissatisfied with his unfulfilled desire, was irritated but still maintained a sliver of reason. He didn’t force himself on her.
However, as his gaze lingered on her alluring body and face, he couldn’t resist licking her lips hungrily before getting up to head to the bathroom to deal with his stone–hard “pepper.”
Rishima turned her back to the bathroom and soon fell into a drowsy sleep. She didn’t know how much time had passed before she felt the bed shift slightly. Shortly after, she sensed a hot chest pressing against her back.
Once again, Rishima was woken by Zvonimir. She frowned, shifting her body forward to create some distance between them.
But as soon as she moved forward, Zvonimir followed her, sticking tightly to her back. He exhaled his scorching breath onto her neck and said, “What are you doing? Were you just unsatisfied earlier and now want me to screw you right here?”
“I feel hot,” Rishima murmured softly.
Perhaps because she had chosen to concede, Zvonimir was in a much better mood. He raised a hand to touch her forehead and smirked. “The air conditioner’s on, and you still feel hot? I think you just want to be screwed.”
Rishima said nothing and didn’t move again, letting Zvonimir lie beside her.
The curtains had been drawn over the bedroom windows, leaving the room shrouded in darkness despite it being daytime. Not a single ray of sunlight penetrated the heavy drapery, creating an oppressive and gloomy atmosphere.
Rishima slept for a while. When she opened her eyes, she stared blankly at the ceiling, her ears filled with Zvonimir’s faint snores.
She remembered how things were before their mate bond was severed. Zvonimir was the same then. Whenever they slept together, he would wrap her tightly in his possessive embrace. Sometimes, when she woke up thirsty in the middle of the night, it would take all her strength to free herself from his grip.
Now, with his left shoulder injured, Zvonimir couldn’t hold her in his arms, but his strong legs clamped tightly around hers. Even his ‘pepper was pressed against her rear.
Though separated by fabric, Rishima could still feel the hardness of his ‘pepper, making her uncomfortable.
They slept until the following noon before waking up.
Just then, Lisa, the secretary, called to report that Farah had visited the corporation late last night and again this morning, even entering Zvonimir’s office. Hearing this, Zvonimir immediately frowned.
“Who allowed her into my office?” Zvonimir asked coldly.

Not just anyone could enter his office, as it contained numerous critical documents. The computer also held confidential company data and top–secret files. Usudly, entry required his explicit permission.
“I’m sorry, Mr. Ashcroft, I couldn’t stop Ms. Thorne,” Lisa stammered nervously, breaking into a sweat.
“Deduct a month’s salary from your paycheck yourself,” Zvonimir replied icily. “What did Farah want in my office?”
Secretary Lisa hastily explained, “Ms. Thome said she was passing by the corporation and wanted to see you. I told her you weren’t in, but she didn’t believe me and insisted on checking your office.”
“Anything else?”
“Ms. Thorne also asked where you were. I said you were but socializing and discussing business with partners. She then asked where you were socializing, which corporation you were working with, and when you’d be back…”
“That’s enough. I get it,” Zvonimir interrupted her curtly.
In the evening, when Zvonimir seturned to the Silverfang mansion, Farah quickly ran out to greet him, pouting coquettishly, “Zvonimir, I went to the corporation today to find you and waited for a long time, but you never returned.”
Zvonimir smiled, “Lately, my workload has been overwhelming, and I haven’t been able to take care of you. That’s my fault. After dinner, come to my room–I have something to discuss with you.”
Farah blushed with joy and nodded shyly.
After dinner, Farah hurriedly went to Zvonimir’s bedroom.
