Chapter 46
After leaving the hospital, Zvonimir did not return to the Silverfang mansion but instead went to Rishima’s villa.
He assumed Rishima had returned there earlier, but unexpectedly, when he opened the door, the living room was pitch dark, and the entire house was silent, showing no sign of Rishima being there.
If Rishima’s luggage had disappeared, Zvonimir would have been certain she had fled.
It was already past 2 a.m., and Zvonimir, exhausted and in pain, had no energy left to think about where Rishima might have gone, nor was he in the mood to answer Farah’s phone calls. He collapsed onto the sofa and fell asleep.
It wasn’t until the following morning when Zvonimir woke up that he realized Rishima had not returned home all night. He called her three times, but she still didn’t answer.
This made Zvonimir extremely irritated.
After ending the call, Zvonimir dialed Lisa, who was still snug in bed “Investigate where Rishima went last night and who she was with for me!”
“Understood.” Lisa immediately woke up and quickly called her subordinates, instructing them to check the guest lists of hotels throughout the empire.
Zvonimir drove back to the mansion and ran into Grandpa Ashcroft in the living room.
Grandpa Ashcroft, seeing his disheveled state and the stains on his shirt, frowned and asked, “What happened to you?”
Zvonimir calmly replied, “The corporation had an urgent matter last night that required my attention. On my way home, I encountered a female in heat and then got injured by her male.”
Female wolves in heat in public places can easily send male wolves into a frenzied state, so Grandpa Ashcroft did not doubt Zvonimir’s explanation. “Were you seriously injured?”
“Just a minor stab wound on my shoulder.” Zvonimir showed Grandpa Ashcroft the wound on his shoulder and continued, “I think you’ll need to assign another wolf from the pack to handle the issues in state A.”
As Zvonimir finished speaking, hurried footsteps echoed from upstairs. Moments later, Farah rushed down the stairs and threw herself into Zvonimir’s arms.
“Zvonimir, how did your shoulder get hurt?” Farah clung to Zvonimir’s arm, her eyes rimmed with red, her delicate eyebrows furrowed, and her exquisite face revealing both pain and worry.
To mislead Grandpa Ashcroft, Zvonimir calmly reached out, stroked Farah’s long hair, and reassured her, “It’s nothing. Just a small wound.”
Farah spoke with distress, “How can you call such a serious injury a small wound?”
“Farah, I’m a bit tired. I’d like to rest for a while. Can you make me a cup of coffee and bring it to my room?” Zvonimir’s tone was gentle and soft.
But as soon as Farah Beard Zvonimir mention the word “coffee,” she froze in fear. She worried that Zvonimir had discovered something.
Lowering her head to avoid his gaze, she nodded meekly, appearing docile and obedient in front of both him and Grandpa Ashcroft.

Chapter 46
Grandpa Ashcroft seemed pleased with Farah’s demeanor and said to Zvonimir, “If your shoulder is injured, you don’t need to worry about the issues in state A. Jest stay home and recover.”
Zvonimir nodded.
Farah smiled and said, “Grandpa, don’t worry. I’ll take good care ofvonimir.”
Grandpa Ashcroft was delighted. “It reassures me greatly to see how well you and Zvonimir get along.”
After arguing with Rishima last night, Zvonimir wasn’t in the mood to deal with Grandpa Ashcroft or Farah, so he irritably said, ‘I’m heading to my room.”
With that, he brushed past Farah and strode quickly toward the stairs.
Farah opened her mouth, wanting to speak but hesitated. She wanted to ask Zvonimir where he had been last night and whether he had been with another female wolf.
But she didn’t dare to ask, fearing it might lead Zvonimir to discover that the coffee she had prepared for him the previous night had been tampered with.
