Chapter 20
Felix knew that he couldn’t see Jade at the pack. He wouldn’t try that unless he had suicidal intentions.
So Felix decided to meet Jade at the Healer’s Sanctum, where he found out that she worked.
He smiled. He wasn’t surprised because this was just like his Jade, always looking for ways to help people in any way she could.
Felix waited patiently for the right opportunity.
He stood near a hidden alley at the Sanctum. He made sure he was very careful to stay out of sight. He watched as healers moved in and out, busy with their different tasks. Then he saw her.
Jade.
She walked past the corridor, speaking softly to one of the younger healers. Her voice was calm, and soft. She wore a simple healer’s robe, but she looked so beautiful.
Felix’s breath caught in his throat.
Jade looked so different. Yes, she was beautiful, but the way she held herself was so different. People listened when she spoke, they respected her. She didn’t need to bully anyone like Bella did.
He waited until she was alone before he stepped forward.
“Jade.” he said softly with longing in his voice.
She turned around slowly at the sound of her name. When she saw him, her expression didn’t change at all. She just stared at him quietly with an unreadable expression on her face.
“Felix,” she said after a moment of silence. Her voice wasn’t warm, but it wasn’t cold either. It was just neutral and distant.
“I… I was hoping we could talk,” he said, taking a step closer. “Please.”
Jade raised her eyebrow watching him, but she didn’t respond. Felix looked so different now. His eyes were red and puffy from crying and lack of sleep.
His hair was tangled and unkempt from running his hand through it over and over in frustration.
“What do you want, Felix? I am very busy right now.” she asked simply.
“I made a mistake,” he said quickly. “I know I did. I was blind, and stupid. And I

didn’t realize what I had until I lost it.”
Her face didn’t change.
He continued anyway. He just needed to make her understand.

“The pack is falling apart, Jade. Nothing is working. Everyone is tense, and Bella is a bitch. She doesn’t care about anything. She’s not you.”
Jade lifted an eyebrow at him. “You’re only here because things are going wrong. If your pack was going well, would you still be looking for me?”
“That’s not true,” he said desperately. “I loved you. I still love you. I was just too proud to admit it. I felt like your omega status will make me seem less, but I was so wrong.”
Jade’s eyes narrowed, but her voice remained calm. “You didn’t love me, Felix. You never did. No matter how much I tried to do the best I could. You saw me
as a tool, nothing more.”
Felix swallowed hard. “I can change. I’ll prove it. Just give me a chance.”
Jade shook her head, stepping back.
“You had your chance,” she said quietly. “And you destroyed it.”
Before he could respond, someone came to stand beside her.
Alpha Rowan.
The air thickened with authority as he placed his arm protectively around
Jade’s waist.
“Is there a problem here?” Rowan asked, his voice was calm, but there was danger in his voice.
Felix tensed. “I just wanted to talk to her.”
Rowan’s eyes didn’t leave him. “You’ve talked. Now leave.”
Felix clenched his jaw stubbornly. He wasn’t done with his business with Jade. Rowan was just a hindrance to the love they shared.
“I’m not done. I’m still talking to her.” He gritted through clenched teeth.
Rowan growled, stepping closer to him with a snarl.
Felix flinched, but didn’t go away. Jade touched Rowan’s arm gently.
“He’s not worth your time, Rowan. Let’s go-”
Felix fell to his knees in an act of desperation, reaching out for Jade’s arm. “Please, don’t go. Please, just hear me out-”
Jade yanked her hand away from his touch. “And do what?!” She snapped.

“Hear you out, and what? Follow you and live happily ever after?” Jade’s voice was hard as she stared down at Felix.
