Chapter 19
Jade narrowed her eyes as she stared at the specimen before her.
“Too much of this will make the fever worse,” she muttered, stirring the contents in the bowl. “But if I use the right quantity, the fever will go away overnight.”
Jade was completely focused as she crushed the leaves and roots. Some healers paused to watch her work as usual.
In just a short time, her talent for herbal medicine had been very obvious.
“You’re a miracle worker,” one of the young healers whispered as Jade gave him the completed potion.
“Oh stop it, anyone can do it,” Jade replied softly, washing her hands.
She felt someone watching her, and she smiled. She turned to see Rowan watching her with a soft smile on his face.
“Hey love,” he murmured with a small smile.
She returned his smile. “Is it time for me to leave?”
He stepped forward, pressing a kiss to her forehead. “Yes it is.”
Jade relaxed into his arms as he embraced her gently. Rowan came to pick her up every day because she always lost track of time when she worked.
“How are you feeling?” Rowan asked, his voice low.
“I’m fine,” she replied. “The nausea is gone, and I’m getting my energy back.”
Rowan rested his hand over her stomach. “How is the baby? Any discomfort?”
She shook her head with a smile. “None. Only the nausea.”
Rowan kissed her temple. “Take it easy, alright?”
As they drove back to the Red Moon Pack, Jade began talking about a new solution that she had worked out to help reduce the cost of running the pack.
Rowan listened patiently, watching her with a soft look in his eyes.
“Jade,” he said affectionately. “You’re pregnant. You need to rest.”
“I am resting. Talking isn’t hard,” she replied.
“You’re working in the Sanctum, running the pack, and you’re pregnant,” he said with a laugh. “You need to leave some work for the rest of us.”
She laughed. “I’m sorry. I’m just used to doing so much at the same time.”

His expression softened. “I don’t want you to overwork yourself, Jade. Please don’t overwork yourself.”
She smiled at him. “I can’t promise anything.”
He chuckled in response. “Oh, I still don’t know what I did to deserve you.”
She leaned in and kissed him softly.
When they got back to the pack house, Rowan watched as the pack members greeted Jade with so much love and warmth.
“She helped deliver my twins,” one omega whispered to another as Jade passed.
“She healed my mother’s arthritis,” another said, in awe.
“Our Luna is amazing.”
He noticed the way they looked at her with reverence and respect.
When they reached the house, Rowan opened the door for her.
“They love you.” He said softly.
Jade turned to him, with a smirk. “Are you jealous?”
He grinned. “A little. But I am also very proud.”
Felix was losing his mind. The hole that Jade had left in the pack and in his heart was getting wider by the day,
He ran a hand through his hair, pacing his office in frustration.
Papers were scattered across the desk. The numbers weren’t adding up, and there were so many problems, and no solution. The pack was falling apart, and
everyone was tense.
He could see their accusing looks. They blamed him for the pack problems, and they were right. Jade had been a solution provider, and he had lost her.
The last proposal that had been accepted that could have helped stabilize the pack finances had now been rejected. Felix had missed the deadline. He had been too distracted and overwhelmed with everything.
His chest tightened. It felt like everywhere he turned, there was another problem waiting for him.
His phone buzzed.
He glanced at the screen, hoping for good news, maybe a message from

another business partner. But instead, it was a status update from Bella.
It was a picture of her sipping wine, and laughing without any care in the world.
(New bag. New shoes. Spa day with the girls!)
Felix stared at the screen in disbelief.
The pack was collapsing, and Bella was out shopping?
He snapped.
He growled in fury as he threw the phone at the wall, and it shattered into pieces.
There was silence for a moment before he broke down.
He sank to the floor and began sobbing heavily.
Jade.
He remembered the way Jade used to calm him down. The way she always believed in him, even when he didn’t believe in himself. When the pressure got too much, Jade would stay up late helping him sort things out, reminding him that he wasn’t alone.
She had loved him.
She had always seen the good in him, even when he couldn’t see it himself.
And he had thrown it away.
“I love her,” he mumbled to himself, and that was the raw truth.
He had allowed his pride to blind him. He had overlooked her because of her status as an omega, but she had always been so much more to him. He realized that now.
Felix wiped his face and stood up. His eyes were red, but they were full of determination.
He was going to get her back.
He had seen his mistake. Now he would fix it.
Jade had always loved him, she would forgive him. Her love for him will awaken when he fixes everything.
