Chapter 13
Jade chuckled unfazed at his words. Felix was surprised that she didn’t look worried.
“Why are you so intent on keeping me back here? You rejected me. You humiliated me. You chose someone else.” She raised an eyebrow. “Now suddenly, you want to use pack rules to trap me?”
Felix’s smirk faltered slightly, but he hid his unease. “Rules are rules, Jade. You belong to this pack until I say otherwise. Unless you’re officially released, you can’t join another pack, even if it is the Red Moon pack.”
Rowan smiled, “Well, I don’t see the problem then.”
Felix’s smirk faded. He was confused, something was wrong. “What are you talking about?”
Jade replied. “You have already signed the release papers,” Her voice was calm and confident.
Felix blinked in confusion. “What? That’s impossible. I didn’t—”
“Oh, but you did,” Jade interrupted with a wide smile. “Remember the day you were rushing off to meet Bella? I handed you some documents to sign. You didn’t even read them. You just signed them and shoved them back into my hands.”
Felix’s face turned pale as realization began to dawn. “No… no, that can’t be-* “I told you they were papers for the conference meeting,” Jade continued with a grin. “But because you didn’t go through them, you didn’t see my official release paper. So you stamped, and approved by yourself.”
Gasps echoed again around the crowd.
Felix stood frozen and speechless. His mouth opened, but no words came out. Rowan stepped forward,
“So thank you, Felix. For setting her free. And for clearing the way for her to take her rightful place as my Luna, I will make sure I send you a fruit basket.” The smug look on Felix’s face had completely vanished now. All that was left was disbelief and humiliation.
Jade looked at him one last time. “I’m not yours to command, control, or insult anymore. You threw me away, Felix. And now… I’ve moved on from you.”
Rowan extended his hand again, and Jade didn’t hesitate this time. She took it
proudly, with a loving smile on her face.
A weird sensation burned through Felix. He recognized that smile, Jade had given it to him all the time, but now that he thought about it, she had been more withdrawn and cold recently.
He had thought that it was just a phase, that it would pass, But it was much more than that.
Felix watched as the two of them turned to leave.
The crowd silently parted to make way for the Red Moon Alpha and his Luna,
Rowan paused, “Hey, one more thing, Felix.”
Felix looked up.
“Don’t expect any Alpha to come,” Rowan said casually.
It was that moment that Felix realized that something was wrong. He glanced around, panic rising in his chest. No alpha was here yet.
Even with all the delay because of Jade and Rowan, none of them were here yet? He had sent out the invitations weeks ago. He even confirmed with a few of them. Why hadn’t they come?
Felix frowned, confused. “What do you mean? What did you do?”
Rowan shrugged. “They’re all at our mating ceremony venue.”
Felix’s mouth fell open. “W–What?”
Rowan’s smirk widened. “Oh? You didn’t know?” He tilted his head with mock innocence. “I’m so sorry. We’re having our mating ceremony today as well. What a… coincidence.”
The crowd murmured as they realized what was going on. Rowan had fixed their mating ceremony the same day as Felix’s mating ceremony.
All the Alphas were absent from Felix’s ceremony because they had chosen to attend Rowan’s instead. Rowan’s pack was the largest and most powerful. No one wanted to risk offending the Red Moon Alpha.
Rowan threw an envelope over his shoulder as he walked away chuckling.,
The envelope landed at Felix’s feet.
“Consider that your invitation,” Rowan said without looking back.
Jade didn’t even glance at Felix. As she walked away holding hands with Rowan.
Felix stared at the envelope. His hand shook as he bent to pick it up. On the
2/3 60.3%
front, it read:
The Mating Ceremony of Alpha Rowan of the Red Moon Pack and Luna Jade.
