Chapter 171 A Crisis Of Trust
Ryan
I sat on the edge of the couch, quiet for a long time, my head spinning with everything that had happened lately.
Nina walked over and said, “Sir, Madam still hasn’t eaten anything. She’s locked herself in the bedroom and won’t come out.”
I gave her a nod and waved her off.
As she turned away, my frown deepened.
Yeah–things were worsen than I thought.

Even after I explained everything and laid my heart bare–Gabby just didn’t trust me anymore. Not like
she used to.
The crisis of trust between us had finally cracked.
Honestly, I should’ve seen it coming.
I brought her into my life through lies. It was the only way I could get close to her.
Back then, she was Vincent’s wife–and I was just his uncle. There was a line between us that couldn’t
be crossed.
Never in a million years did I think I’d get the chance to reach for the woman I’d always wanted.
But now, she had lost her memory. And for the first time, I was finally able to stand by her side–as her husband. I could give her tenderness, companionship–everything she needed.
I thought if I gave her all of me, eventually, she’d give something back.
But I hadn’t counted on fate biting back–or Summer completely losing it.
Frustrated, I rubbed my temples. Just thinking about those photos made my blood boil.
It had to be Summer. I never should’ve had that much to drink last night–I practically handed her the perfect setup.
I grabbed my phone and called her.
She picked up right away.
“What the hell do you want?” I said, my voice low and cold, “Is screwing up things between me and Gabby really that satisfying to you?”
“Oh Ry, don’t be so mean,” she replied with a light, fake little laugh. Not a trace of guilt. “What did I do?”
“You sent her the photos, didn’t you?”
She paused for a second, then said, “Some things are better said face–to–face. Let’s meet.”
I let out a short, bitter laugh, “You seriously think.I want to see you?”
“Ry, are you scared to face me?” she said, sugary sweet, and it made my skin crawl. “If you won’t

come, maybe I’ll just swing by and have a chat with Gabrielle.”

My jaw clenched. I didn’t say anything for a few seconds, then gave in. “Fine. Send me the location. Right now, Summer was the biggest wild card. And for Gabby’s sake, I had to deal with her–fast. After she texted me the address, I threw on a dark gray jacket, and before heading downstairs, turned to Nina, “Gabby’s in a bad mood today. Make something light and try to get her to eat. Don’t let her go hungry.”
“Yes, sir,” Nina replied right away.
When I arrived at the restaurant, I pushed open the door to the private room. Summer was already there, sitting by the window.
She stood when she saw me, flashing a smile, “Ry, you came.”
I stayed where I was, staring at her coldly, “Cut the crap. Did you send those photos or not?”
She gave me a wide–eye look, trying to play innocent, “I took them. But I didn’t do anything wrong. Why are you so mad?”
Then slowly she walked over and grabbed my arm. Her eyes were full of desperate affection. “I just- love you too much. I couldn’t control myself.”
