Chapter 151 Did Ryan Lie to Me?
Ryan had always been gentle with me. This was the first time he had ever been so harsh.
His sudden stemness caught me off guard, and a wave of grievance swelled in my chest.
I bit my lip and lowered my head, choosing to stay silent.
Maybe he realized he had overstepped, because his tone quickly softened.
“I’m sorry, Gabby. I didn’t mean to snap at you. I just, I was really worried about
you.
I lifted my gaze to him. Ryan’s eyes were a storm of emotions, anxiety, tension, and beneath it all, a flicker of fear.
“Was he afraid I would believe Summer? That I would start questioning him?”
I sniffled, my voice hesitant. “Summer was just talking to me. Aren’t you overreacting a little?”
Ryan’s expression darkened. His voice dropped lower. “Really? She didn’t say anything she shouldn’t
have?”
I stiffened
Summer’s words echoed in my mind: “Vincent is your real husband.”
Ever since she said that, my thoughts had been in turmoil.
I couldn’t make sense of it.
‘If, if what she said was true, then what did that mean? If Vincent really was my husband, then Ryan, had been lying to me? Why? Would he really betray me like that?”
I bit down hard on my lip, my head throbbing as confusion tangled with doubt.
Pressing my fingers against my temples, I drew in a shaky breath and murmured.
“Ryan, I told you before, I want to trust you. But I also need to know that you aren’t lying to me.”
Ryan slammed on the brake!
The tires screeched against the pavement, and the car lurched to a sharp stop at the side of the road. The force threw me forward, I stared at him in shock.
His hands clutched the steering wheel tightly, his knuckles turning white, as if he were barely holding himself together.
The air inside the car grew thick and suffocating.
After what felt like forever, he turned to me. His eyes locked onto mine, his voice low tight with tension.
“What exactly did Summer say to you?”
My pulse pounded in my ears. I hesitated, then forced myself to speak the truth.
“She said… Vincent is my husband. And she told me to stay away from you.”
Everything went still.
<Chapter 151 Did Pyr
To Me?
Ryan’s face changed instantly–dramatically. His pupils shrunk, his entire body going rigid. Then,
suddenly, he reached for my hand, gripping it so tightly it was as if he were afraid I might vanish at any
moment.
“Gabby,” his voice was hoarse, and for a moment, he looked vulnerable.
“Do you believe her?”
Looking at Ryan’s tense expression, almost pleading.
‘Scared I would believe Summer?”
I pressed my lips together, my lashes fluttering.
I didn’t know how to answer.
Over the past days, I had slowly come to accept my life with Ryan. I had learned to rely on him.
And right now, he was the only person I felt I could trust.
But everything that had happened lately, it was starting to tear that trust apart.
“…” My throat tightened, my voice barely a whisper.
“I don’t know, I don’t know what to believe, I feel so lost.”
The more I thought about it, the heavier the confusion became.
Summer’s words had sliced through my world like a blade, cracking everything I thought I knew. And through that crack, doubt, fear, and uncertainty came flooding in
The truth was, even before Summer, I had already started questioning Vincent. Something deep inside. me had always wondered about him
And that child who kept appearing in my dreams.
It all felt connected.
It hurt.
It hurt so much…
