Chapter 149 Ryan Showed Up Out of Nowhere
I was so shocked; I could barely speak.
“Vincent is your husband.”
Those words just kept ringing in my head, like an alarm I couldn’t shut off. The ground beneath me felt like it had been ripped away.
How could that be true? After I lost my memory, Ryan told me we were married. He said the baby I’m carrying is his…
But now Summer is telling me Vincent is actually my husband?!
But isn’t Vincent Ryan’s nephew? Who’s telling the truth?
My thoughts were a tangled mess, my brain practically turning to mush.
I pressed a hand to my forehead, trying to calm myself, but then–like a flood–fragmented memories rushed in.
Late at night, I sat alone in a room, crying in despair…..
A man and a woman, their faces blurred, clung to each other while I stood there, heartbroken…
A little boy threw himself into my arms, sobbing, crying out “Mommy“…
The images spun in my head, each one cutting deep, making it hard to breathe.
The faces in my mind remained a blur. I tried desperately to bring them into focus, but it was useless.
I clutched my head, my breath coming in sharp, shallow gasps. I didn’t even notice Summer stepping
closer.
Her voice cut through the air, sharp and laced with contempt. “Hey, what the hell’s wrong with you? I haven’t even touched you yet. Don’t start acting all dramatic. If something happens to you, that’s not
on me.”
I suddenly grabbed her wrist, my eyes locking onto hers. “Summer, are you absolutely sure Vincent is my husband? You’re not lying to me?”
My grip tightened in my desperation, and my nails accidentally dug into her skin. Summer winced and yanked her arm back, a cold smirk tugging at her lips. “Gabrielle, are you seriously asking me who your husband is? Isn’t that a bit ridiculous?”
I bit my lip hard, my head spinning.
Should I believe her? If she’s telling the truth, then what about Ryan?
Why would Ryan lie to me? He’s been so gentle, so attentive. I’ve been slowly falling for that warmth, that tenderness. How could be deceive me?
But Summer despises me–and she’s in love with Ryan. Am I really supposed to trust her over him?
If she wants me to believe her, she better have proof..
“What proof do you have?” I demanded, my voice trembling

about you. But somehow, Ryan treats you… differently.”
Her words made me frown.

Then she laughed, bitter and biting. Tve never seen him be that gentle with any woman.”
I thought to myself–Well, we’re married. Of course, he treats me well. That’s normal.
But something about the way she said it made my stomach twist.
If Ryan really is my husband…, why would she be acting like this? Why would she act like I wasn’t ever supposed to be in the picture?
I took a deep breath, forcing myself to stay composed. I looked her directly in the eye. “Let’s get back to the point. Just tell me what is my relationship with Vincent?”
Summer scoffed, rolling her eyes like I was playing dumb. “Are you seriously still pretending you don’t know?”
She crossed her arms, raising an eyebrow. “Even without your memory, how could you not know?” Then she dropped it. “Vincent is your husband,” she said bluntly. “Your husband. And you’re here asking me who he is?!”
My mind went completely blank. My vision blurred for half a second. I felt like I’d been struck by lightning.
What?! Vincent… is my husband?!

OMID
Summer raised an eyebrow, about to respond when suddenly, a loud bang shattered the tension. The door to the suite slammed open with forcel
I jumped, whipping my head around.
A tall, striking man stood at the entrance. Dressed in a black trench coat, his chiseled brows were drawn tight, and his deep–set eyes brimmed with worry and urgency.
It was Ryan
His eyes swept over the room, landing on me–and in an instant, the panic in his eyes deepened.
The very next second, he strode forward and pulled me into his arms, holding me so tightly it was as he feared I’d disappear if he let go.
He pressed his chin to the top of my head, holding me so tightly it felt like he was afraid I’d vanish if he let go.
“Gabby….I finally found you…” he whispered, his voice was low and rough, laced with exhaustion–and something else. Was that… a tremble?
I was stunned by his sudden appearance, frozen in place. It took me a moment to process what was happening. I looked up at him, confused.
“What are you doing here? Weren’t you at the firm?”
Ryan didn’t answer. He just grabbed my hand and started pulling me toward the door, his grip iron- tight, leaving no room for argument.
Summer darted forward, furious, blocking our path.
“Ry, what are you doing here all of a sudden?” she snapped, her voice laced with panic.
Her gaze dropped to our intertwined hands, her eyes darkening with jealousy and anger.
“You’re all over Gabrielle. What the hell am I to you, huh? Just air?”
Ryan stopped, his expression turning ice–cold, his voice sharp as a blade. “Summer. I’m warning you- pull another stunt like this, and I won’t go easy on you.”
