Chapter 141 Intense Passion
I swallowed instinctively, my body responding with heightened sensitivity to Ryan’s touch. If he pushed just a little more, I was afraid I’d lose control completely–drowning in that storm of heat he stirred up.
Yet at the same time, my rational mind was desperately trying to wrestle with the heat building inside
Was I really about to sleep with him… already?
He kept calling me his wife, and part of me was starting to believe him. But I still had no memory to back it up–no wedding, no ring, nothing. Just blank space.
Suddenly, I remembered Summer. She had told me to meet her alone, said she had something important to tell me. Maybe she’d finally give me the answers I needed.
While I was lost in thought, Ryan’s hands didn’t stop.
His fingers brushed over my nipple through the fabric, teasing it in slow circles.
A shock raced through me, arching my back as a wave of heat surged down n
my spine.
“Mmm stop. I gasped, jolted back to reality. I grabbed his hand and shot him a warning look. “Not here. Someone could walk in.”
Ryan’s voice dropped to a low, teasing murmur. “Wouldn’t that make it even hotter?”
“Don’t joke around!” I snapped, glaring at him while my heart thudded like crazy in my chest.
“So.. you don’t want it?” he asked, holding me tight, his gaze dark and hungry.
“It’s not that I don’t I blurted out–then immediately regretted it. Why did I say that?
Predictably, a smug grin spread across his face, like he’d just won a bet. “So, you do want it?”
I didn’t know what to say. I quickly changed the subject, forcing myself to calm down. “I’m not ready yet. We said we’d take it slow–start as friends. You’ve been pushing the line a lot lately.”
‘Friends?” Ryan chuckled dryly and leaned down to nibble my earlobe. “You didn’t seem very friendly that day.”
My face flushed hot. I tried to play dumb. “Which day?”
Ryan gave me a wicked grin, and his voice dropped to a seductive whisper. The day you came just from my fingers…”
“Stop–don’t say that!” I slapped my hand over his mouth, mortified. My whole face was burning–I wanted to crawl into a hole and disappear.
Ryan looked at me with mock innocence. “What? Did I say something wrong?”
“You were drunk! That whole thing was a mistake! We already talked about this! I snapped, but even could hear how unconvincing I sounded
He raised an eyebrow and gently pushed my hand away. His voice dripped with amusement. “But I was the one who was drunk. You weren’t.”

1 stared at him, completely at a loss. Senously? Was he really calling me out like this?
Ryan, if you don’t knock it off, I’m gonna get senously pissed!” I warned, my voice nsing in frustration.

He laughed softly and raised his hands in mock surrender. “Alright, alright. I keep my mouth shut. Don’t be mad at me.”
I huffed and pulled my arm out of his grip. Standing up, I smoothed out the collar of my blouse, trying to calm the wild rhythm of my heartbeat.
Only then did I ask–trying to sound casual, like I wasn’t plotting anything. “So do you have any plans for the day after tomorrow?”
Ryan paused for a second, gave me a quick glance, and replied gently. “Nothing special. I’ll probably be at the firm most of the day.”
I let out a breath I didn’t realize I was holding.
If he was going to be at the law firm all day, then that made things much easier. I could meet up with Summer without worrying about him finding out.
Ryan narrowed his eyes a little, clearly suspicious. “Why are you asking all of a sudden?”
I shrugged and gave him a light smile. “No reason. Just making small talk.”
He didn’t push it. Instead, he slowly stepped closer, lowering his voice so it brushed against my skin like velvet. “If you want… I can make time for you. We could go out–have a date, catch a movie, enjoy a candlelit dinner. Whatever you feel like.”
That voice again–the one that made it impossible to think straight.
Then he leaned in, lips barely grazing my ear, and whispered, “Or if you prefer, we could spend the day doing something a lot more intense. You know–mind–blowing sex.”
