Chapter 89 Was Daniel The One Having An Affair With Claire?
I looked up at Vincent, trying to keep my voice steady, “Are you sure Claire’s resting at home?”
Vincent seemed surprised by my sudden question but nodded, “Yeah. Grandfather’s condition really shook her up, so I told her to go home and rest.”
His words sent chills down my spine.
If Claire was really at home, then who was that woman I just saw?
I was sure it was Claire Her figure, her voice–I knew them too well to be mistaken.
If I wasn’t wrong, then that meant she was cheating on Vincent. Having an affair while pregnant with his child
Or maybe was it possible the baby wasn’t even Vincent’s?
The thought made me laugh bitterly inside. Both Vincent and I were pretty pathetic.
But I had no intention of getting caught up in their mess. After a moment, I just said quietly, “You should keep a closer eye on Claire–Maybe you don’t know her as well as you think.”
That was all I could say as his soon–to–be ex–wife.
Vincent’s frown deepened, “What do you mean? Why are you suddenly saying this-”
I pressed my lips together, unsure how to respond.
“Hah, always trying to stir up drama,” Rachel cut in, her voice dripping with disdain.
She gave me a scornful look and sneered, “What’s wrong? Jealous of Claire? You know you can’t compare to her, so now you’re trying to cause trouble?”
I almost laughed.
Rachel had always preferred Claire as a daughter–in–law.
Wonder if she’d regret it when she finally saw Claire’s true colors.
Rachel kept mocking me, “Gabrielle, face reality. Someone like you could never be good enough for my
Vincent!”
Just then, the door swung open.
A tall figure stepped inside, his presence suffocating.
I turned and locked eyes with a pair of dark, ice pupils.
Daniel.
His expression was terrifyingly grim, his gaze fixed solely on me. Something lurked in his dark eyes, as if he was trying to see right through me.
A sudden chill ran through me, and I instinctively took a step back. His build–the more I looked, the more it matched the man from the park.
Oh God–no way?

My mind reeled.
The man Claire was having an affair with–could it really be Vincent’s father?
This was beyond messed up.
But–no matter how much I wanted to deny it, their builds were eerily similar.
My breathing became uneven, my heart racing. I could barely handle the implications.
Daniel’s gaze never wavered, watching my every move.
My throat tightened as I looked away, unable to meet his gaze.
A suffocating tension filled the air, sending shivers down my spine.
“Alright, Gabby, you should head home now,” Daniel suddenly said, his voice low and commanding
“The doctor said Henry will be sleeping for a while. No need for you to stay,”
I froze, looking up at him. His expression was cold, as if he wasn’t actually concerned about Grandfather’s condition, but rather–just wanted to get rid of me.
My fingers curled tighter around my sleeves. Something felt off.
The atmosphere in that hospital room was suffocating.
Too unsettled to stay, I took a deep breath, murmured a quick goodbyes, and left.
Only after stepping outside did I realize my palms were slick with cold sweat.
Daniel’s stare had sent chills down my spine, and the situation with Claire left my head spinning.
I pulled out my phone and quickly texted Sylvia, venting about everything that had just happened.
Sylvia: OMG, you didn’t take pictures?
Me: -I was too scared to even think about that!
Sylvia: What a shame! With evidence, this would’ve been explosive news!
I gave a bitter smile, my emotions still in turmoil.
Then suddenly, a familiar voice called from behind me.
“Gabby.”
I stopped in my tracks and turned around.
Vincent stood there, his gaze locked onto me, burning with intensity.
