Chapter 121 Ryan’s Fiancée
The woman flashed a confident smile, “My name is Summer Miller.
You’ve heard of me, haven’t you?”
I hesitated, racking my brain. After a few seconds, I was sure–I had never heard of her in my life. Shaking my head, I replied honestly, “No.”
Summer immediately stomped her foot like I’d just insulted her. Lifting
her chin, she declared, “I’m the eldest daughter of the Miller family-
the richest family in Bellton. And more importantly, I’m Ryan’s
fiancée!”
Fiancée?! My stomach dropped as I turned to Ryan.
If she was Ryan’s fiancée–then what did that make me? Hadn’t he
told me I was his wife?
Ryan’s expression darkened instantly. His voice was sharp, almost
biting, “Summer, stop talking nonsense.”
Without another glance at her, he grabbed my hand and led me
straight to the counter.
As we walked, he leaned in and murmured, “Gabby, don’t pay attention
to her. The Hudson and the Miller family had an arranged engagement
years ago, but it’s been over for a long time.”
I followed him, nodding thoughtfully, “So, Miss Miller has a one–sided crush on you and just won’t give up?”

Ryan let out a low, exasperated chuckle, “I called off the engagement ages ago. But since our families still do business together, I didn’t see the point in making a huge scene. I’ve always kept my distance and
made my stance clear.”
He rubbed his temples, looking genuinely frustrated–like Summer had
been a persistent headache for far too long.
I couldn’t help but laugh, “Why are you so eager to explain? You seem
-nervous.”
Ryan paused, then let out a soft sigh. His gaze locked onto mine,
sincere and unwavering, “Of course I’m. I don’t want you to
misunderstand. I don’t want you to be upset. And more than anything
-I don’t want this to change the way you see me.”
His words were so honest, so raw, that something stirred inside me.
My face grew warm under the intensity of his stare.
Flustered, I quickly looked away and chuckled, “I’m not mad. And
honestly, you’ve always been great in my eyes.”
The second the words left my mouth, my cheeks burned even hotter.
Embarrassed, I let go of his hand and hurried toward the counter.
Behind me, Ryan let out a low, amused laugh. In just a few strides, he
caught up and took my hand again–like he had no intention of letting go. Then, he placed the designer handbag on the counter and pulled out a sleek black card, “Check out,” he said casually.
The cashier’s eyes widened at the sight of the black card, her smile

turning instantly more enthusiastic. Bowing slightly, she took the card
with both hands, her voice overly polite, “Of course, sir. Just a moment
while I process your payment.”
“This is a limited–edition piece,” she added, glancing between me and
Ryan. “It’s an honor to have such a distinguished couple choose it.”
I felt a little self–conscious, especially knowing how expensive the bag
probably was.
But just as the cashier was about to swipe the card, a sharp voice
rang out.
“Wait a minute!”
Summer’s voice cut through the air. She stormed over in her high heels, whiping out a black card identical to Ryan’s. Pointing at the handbag, she raised her voice, “Charge it to my card! I’m buying that
bag.”
