Chapter 8
The housekeeper complied and began gathering all the photo albums and frames, piling them up on
the lawn outside.
Celia opened a few bottles of Louie’s prized red wine and poured it on top.
She poured herself a glass and handed one to the housekeeper.
“Clink!”
The sound of the wine glasses meeting echoed the sound of five years of feelings being shattered.
Celia lit a lighter and tossed it onto the mountain of trash.
As the flames grew, she tilted her head back and drank the wine, letting the tears fall from her eyes
and into her collar.
The rest were all gifts Louie had given her over the years: bags, dresses, jewelry….
Celia packed them all up and listed them on a secondhand platform, with the payment account set to
the orphanage.
Louie received a call from his assistant. “Madam has listed everything you gave her online to sell.”
His face changed instantly, and he quickly put on his coat.
On the way, Louie called Celia repeatedly, but she didn’t answer.
The panic and unease made him speed through several red lights.
Before the car even stopped, he rushed into the yard.
Celia was sitting in a reclining chair, holding a wine glass, surrounded by discarded bottles.
Her face was flushed, and she hummed an unfamiliar tune.
Louie’s anxious heart finally relaxed. He crouched down next to her.

“Celia, why didn’t you answer the phone? You saved on to date
Celia slowly turned her head to look at Wien “Why did you get sca
Louie reached out and gently touched her hot face. “Of course, I was wonded that you were angry with me and hiding from me*
The alcohol took effect, and Cella asked the question that had been on her mind
“Louie, are you hiding something from me?”
Louie’s heart sank. He lowered his head, struggling internally for a long while.
When he raised his head again, he wore an innocent and sincere expression
“Of course not. We’re one, husband and wife, sincere with each other.”
Celía looked over his shoulder at the distant ashes.
The last flicker of fire in her heart was extinguished the moment Louie chose to continue hiding the
truth.
Louie noticed the scab on her palm. “Celía, how did you hurt your hand?”
Celia almost said it was because of him.
“Bitten by a dog.”
Louie’s heart ached, and he fetched a first–aid kit, kneeling on the floor to disinfect and bandage her
hand.
“You’re always so careless. I don’t know what you’d do without me.”
Celia internally sneered.
She once thought he was the umbrella that shielded her from the storms, only to realize that the wind and rain were caused by him.
“By the way, I heard from my assistant that you sold all the gifts I gave you.”
Celia withdrew her gaze. “It’s nothing. They’re old. I wanted to change them for new ones.”

Louie carefully tied the bandage, securing it tightly. “If you don’t like them, just throw them away. I buy you new ones, good ones.”
He stood up and pulled Celia into his arms, his breath warm against her ear.
“Celia, on Monday, I want to hold a welcome party for Jenna.”
Seeing that Celia didn’t respond, he continued.
“You’ve always wanted to see the starry sky in Oman, right? After the party, how about we go and see the stars, just the three of us?”
The Green Mountains of Oman are over 2000 meters above sea level, making it an ideal spot for
stargazing.
Celia had always wanted to go.
But just yesterday, she received an email from England.
“Ms. Celia Flores, we regret to inform you that the blue star assigned to you will fall in three days.”
She had once believed in an unbreakable love, but it had already been shattered beyond repair.
She had once believed in an eternal star, but now it was about to fall.
Louie pulled away from her embrace. “Celia, if you’re unhappy, the welcome party can be canceled…”
Celia sobered up and spoke in a faint voice.
“Why even say that? Of course, the welcome party should go on. I’ll arrange everything.”
Louie’s eyes lit up with surprise, and he pulled her close again.
“Anything for you, Celia. I have other surprises for you too.”
Louie planned to give her their legally marriage certificate on that day, so they could officially he husband and wife.
