Chapter 22
Celia thought that Matthew’s career was more than ten times more successful than Louie’s, and his social engagements were much more frequent.
So she had no expectations for him or the wedding that was coming
“It’s just a marriage alliance without any emotional foundation.”
These were the words she told her best friend.
But Matthew appeared at every stage of the wedding preparations.
He personally selected the wedding venue and oversaw every detail of the interior decorations.
After all, he had graduated from Europe’s largest art school, the University of the Arts London, with
dual doctorates in Design Curation and Creative Industry Management.
The wedding ring was custom–designed, one of a kind.
Even when it came to choosing the wedding dress, he gave her ample respect and involvement.
–
Take the mermaid wedding dress, for example – it was Matthew’s work from when he graduated
with his master’s degree.
Matthew sat on a low sofa, his long legs unable to find a place to rest.
His fox–like eyes boldly wandered over her body, naked desire evident.
Celia felt uncomfortable under his gaze.
She pulled the dress up slightly, “Doesn’t it look good?”
Matthew stood up and walked over to her. He placed his hands on her shoulders and turned her
around.
In the mirror, Celia’s body emitted a faint glow – her long, slender neck, her face unadon with makeup yet radiant.

“Mrs. Curtis, I suggest you recognize your own beauty,”
Celia stuck out her tongue, her skin burning from his touch.
Matthew’s breath was right by her car, his exhalation making her face flush hotly.
Celia could feel the desire emanating from behind her and quickly moved to put some distance
between them.
She turned from side to side in front of the mirror. “I heard this dress is one of your designs?”
Matthew wasn’t planning to stop, though. He moved even closer to her.
Celia was trapped in the corner, with nowhere to retreat.
She stammered, “W–what are you trying to do?”
Matthew’s hand slid around her slim waist, landing on her exposed back.
His scorching palm kept her away from the cold wall.
“What do you think I’m trying to do, Mrs. Curtis?”
Celia, her face red, looked around nervously. “This is a bridal shop… There are people outside.”
Matthew was nearly overwhelmed by how cute she looked, tempted to pounce on her, but he didn’t
want to make her uncomfortable.
He tightened his grip on her wrist and pulled her out of the corner.
He took several deep breaths until his breath stabilized.
“Try on more wedding dresses!”
With the help of the staff, Celia tried on several haute couture gowns, each one unique in the world.
Exhausted, she collapsed onto the sofa, her legs resting on his lap.
“I still like the one you designed the most.”
Matthew raised an eyebrow. “There are still several more, all shipped from abroad. Let’s try them

on.”
Celia pouted and acted coy, “Ah, I can’t try any more.”
Matthew helped her up and gently coaxed, “Be good, we’ll go eat Thai food after you’re done.”
But Celia refused to try anything else, no matter what.
In the struggle, an idea suddenly came to her.
She pointed at Matthew..“Why don’t you try it on instead?”
Matthew widened his eyes. “How could I try it on? I’m a man.”
Celia immediately became interested. “Your face is even more beautiful than most women’s, and with your broad shoulders and narrow waist, it will fit perfectly!”
Matthew quickly waved his hand, “No way! I’m the CEO, how could I wear a wedding dress? If this gets out, I’ll be the laughingstock of the entire company. I won’t do it!”
Celia immediately pouted. “Just try it, just try it.”
Seeing that he still wasn’t willing, she pulled out her ultimate weapon.
She tugged at his arm and shook it. “Hubby…”
The result was that Matthew not only tried on the wedding dress but also allowed Celia to apply a full face of makeup on him.
The secretary stared at her boss’s exaggerated fake eyelashes, deep in thought.
Shaking his head, he sighed, “It’s true – love makes people lose their boundaries.”
