Chapter 2
That n
ight, Celia was tormented by nightmares.
In her dreams, her parents‘ scolding intertwined with Louie’s sweet nothings.
“If you marry Louie, don’t you dare step foot in the Flores household again.”
“Celia, I’ll never let you down. From now on, I’ll be the closest person in your life.”
Five years ago, she had defied her parents, breaking off her childhood engagement to marry Louie.
Her father had been so enraged he suffered a heart attack. Her mother had spat venomously:
“You’ll regret this one day!”
But Celia had chosen love. She packed her bags and left New York for San Francisco alone.
For five years, Louie’s love hadn’t faded–it had only grown stronger.
His friends used to joke, “If Celia pointed at a star and said she wanted it, Mr. Morris would build a ladder to pluck it from the sky for her.”
When Celia heard this, she laughed behind her hands.
Because Louie had indeed “plucked” stars for her.
Celia once saw a blue star in an astronomy magazine and casually remarked, “It’s really special.”
On their anniversary, she received a certificate from the Star Name Registry in the UK.
That blue star shining in space thus became uniquely hers.
He even installed a high–powered telescope on their bedroom balcony so she could admire her star every night.
With this picture–perfect marriage, she’d been determined to prove her parents wrong.

But if marriage was a gamble, that counterfeit certificate was proof she’d lost everything.
In the haze of her nightmare, Thalia appeared before her.
“Celia, you’re the fake. I’m the real Mrs. Morris!”
“No! I don’t believe you!” Celia screamed hysterically.
Then Louie materialized behind Thalia–watching her coldly.
Celia clung to the hope as if it were a lifeline, “Louie! Tell her I’m your wife!”
But Louie ignored her, taking Thalia’s hand as they walked away.
“LOUIE MORRIS!”
With a gasp, Celia jolted awake.
“I’m here, Celia. Did you have a nightmare?” Louie murmured with concern, stroking her back.
Tears spilled uncontrollably as she choked out, “Louie… who am I?”
He paused, then pinched her nose playfully. “You’re Celia. The love of my life. Mrs. Morris.”
Was she?
She wanted to ask him directly–if she was so important to him, why did he forge a marriage certificate to deceive her?
“Louie, the marriage certificate…”
Just as she was about to speak, Louie’s phone rang.
Celia glanced at the phone and saw the note “Thalia.”
Louie patted her hand and said dismissively, “I’ll have the lawyer get a replacement for the marriage certificate as soon as possible. There’s an urgent matter at the company that I need to deal
with.”
Before he even left the bedroom, he eagerly answered the call.

Chapter 2
“Don’t worry, Thalia. I’m on my way.”
Simultaneously, Celia received a call from the director of the orphanage where she had been
volunteering.
“Celia, a couple wants to adopt Jenna. Since Mr. Morris mentioned you two were interested in adopting her. Do you have time to come and take a look?”
Celia changed her clothes and drove to the orphanage.
When Celia arrived, she spotted Louie by the stairwell. She raised her hand to wave-
Until a figure dashed and threw herself into his arms.
“Louie! You’re finally here! They’re taking Jenna away!”
He embraced Thalia reassuringly. “Don’t worry, I won’t let anyone take our daughter away.”
