Chapter 11
Louie’s mother blacked out for a moment and nearly fainted.
Thalia reacted quickly and helped her up. “Auntie, are you okay?”
Louie’s mother regained her composure and glared at her fiercely.
“You shameless woman, you’re going to ruin my son and the Morris family!”
Thalia was pushed away forcefully, stumbling into a giant cake.
Six–year–old Jenna, shocked by the sudden chaos, burst into tears.
The scene turned chaotic in an instant.
A paparazzo among the guests took the opportunity to snap pictures, gleefully anticipating the upcoming exclusive for the trending news.
What should have been a joyous and lively banquet ended abruptly with Louie yelling and cursing, driving the guests away in haste.
Though the Morris family immediately tried to contain the situation, many photos and videos from
the scene leaked out.
That night, the top three trending topics were all about the Louie family’s scandal.
[Morris Group’s current CEO Louie Morris cheating during marriage, suspected of fathering an illegitimate daughter]
[Reliable sources say Louie Morris’s original wife Celia Flores has left San Francisco, whereabouts
unknown]
Matthew read these headlines nonchalantly, while Celia sat beside him.
“Tsk… I thought the Morris family was a big deal, but it’s nothing special.”
“May I ask, Miss Flores, what made you fall for that scumbag Louie?”

Celia didn’t want to respond to Matthew’s mocking, since she was the one who broke off their engagement first, so she was in the wrong.
But Matthew was the type of person who wouldn’t let things go easily.
Celia rolled down the car window. “Mr. Curtis, if you came to mock me, I’ll leave right now, and pretend I never called you.”
She opened the car door as she spoke.
Matthew suddenly leaned in and wrapped his arms around her, and the car door was quickly closed.
“Miss Flores, your patience with me really is limited.”
She raised her eyes to look at his profile–the straight nose, the sharp jawline.
Unlike Louie’s typical handsome looks, Matthew’s face carried a slightly androgynous, mesmerizing
quality,
Matthew’s breath lingered by her ear, causing her to shiver slightly.
He handed her a red marriage certificate, and she couldn’t help but laugh bitterly. “So this is the feeling of a real one.”
Their wedding was scheduled for the beginning of next month, at the biggest hotel in San Francisco.
Celia initially didn’t want to make a big deal of it.
Matthew, however, said that the more extravagant, the better. “Only then can we suppress the
gossip.”
Celia lowered her gaze. She had no hope for this political marriage.
It was just about maintaining politeness, living out the rest of her life, and that was it.
But it seemed that Matthew didn’t think the same way.
He immediately posted his first–ever Instagram update: “Married.”
The photo was of their marriage certificate.

Chapter 11
In an instant, there were thousands of likes and hundreds of comments.
“So Mr. Curtis isn’t indifferent to women after all. Which fairy is so lucky?”
“The heir of the Curtis family is getting married so suddenly?”
“When did Mr. Curtis plan to introduce his wife to us?”
Matthew raised his eyebrows, clearly in a good mood.
He replied to each comment.
“It’s not her luck, it’s my luck to have her again.”
“The wedding invitations have already been sent. Come see my bride then.”
Celia scrolled through his replies.
It was hard to reconcile the excited Matthew of the moment with the cold, indifferent Matthew she
saw in front of her.
Meanwhile, on the other side, Louie was in a complete mess.
The only good news was that the three trending topics were soon overshadowed by a piece of happy
news.
Louie frowned, repeatedly dialing Celia’s phone, but it still wouldn’t connect.
He anxiously paced back and forth. “Contact all channels, and make sure to find my wife!”
But the assistant brought back the news. “Madam has already left San Francisco. Her destination is
unknown.”
Louie grabbed the assistant’s collar. “What do you mean ‘unknown‘? Find out!”
The assistant flushed red. “Madam first flew to Thailand, then transferred in Singapore, and then bought a flight to Australia. But I checked with the Australian authorities, and she never entered the
country.”
