Having an Affair
Nolan was about to head upstairs when he saw Carric coming down the stairs,
Her eyes lit up. “Nolan!” She called out excitedly.
He wasn’t in the mood to chat. He was about to continue upstairs until her voice caught his attention again.
“Nolan, Amelia is so annoying. She’s everywhere. I had dinner plans with Dylan this evening, and even after that, I still ran into her. Seriously, I can’t get rid of her!
“And Dylan–ugh, he is really something. His business dinner ran way over. By the time he showed up, the food I ordered was already cold. But at least he brought me a gift. Hehe, it’s actually quite pretty.”
Nolan stopped in his tracks, his gaze settling on her.
Startled by this stare, Carrie stammered, “N–Nolan… what’s wrong?”
“You had dinner with Dylan this evening, and he showed up late? Did you two even eat?”
When talking about that, Carrie looked disappointed. “Barely. He said he had to leave early. But whatever, there’s always a next time. And hey, at least I got a gift.”
Dylan never put effort into gifts. He just had Nathan pick up something expensive last–minute. His actions were half–hearted, but Carrie was happy regardless. After all, Dylan never gave gifts to any other women.
She hummed a little tune as she was about to go downstairs, when Nolan suddenly grabbed her wrist.
“What the hell, Nolan?”
“Carrie, go over the timeline with me again.”
“What timeline? What’s there to go over? Dylan’s business dinner just ran really late, that’s all. It’s not his fault.”
Nolan suddenly tightened his grip on her wrist/“Go. Over. It.”
Carrie winced, eyes watering from the pain. She pouted as she went over the timeline again.
Nolan finally let go of her wrist and smiled at her. “Alright. Never mind. Go on downstairs.”
She looked at the red marks on her pale wrist, her eyes stinging from the pain.
“What is with you tonight? You’re being totally weird. I’m done talking to you!”
She angrily stomped downstairs.
Back in his room, Nolan didn’t hesitate. He called one of the business partners from Dylan’s business dinner.
The partner had gone home to sleep after the business dinner, and he was still groggy when he picked up.
“Mr. Nolan?”
“Yeah, it’s me. Quick question. Amelia was at dinner with you guys tonight, right? Along with Dylan. Around what time did it end?”

Chapter 141 Having an Affair
The man recalled. “Uh… a little after seven, I think? It ended then. But Ms. Summers seemed odd. I always thought she didn’t like Mr. Hale, so it was kinda surprising they were in the same private room.
He yawned. “Anyway, family business. Don’t drag me into it.”
Nolan hung up, his fingers on the phone clenching tighter by the second. The dinner ended shortly after seven, yet Amelia didn’t leave the hotel until well past nine. So… who was she with during that time?
Dylan had also wrapped up around seven. He should’ve gone straight to dinner with Carrie. But Carrie said he showed up late and barely touched his food. And when they were leaving, they even bumped into Amelia.
Even if he were the world’s biggest idiot, Nolan couldn’t ignore the signs anymore.
Amelia and Dylan.
It wasn’t just suspicion now. It was obvious.
Not to mention, Amelia had once stayed overnight at Palm Bay… and left with a suspicious mark on her neck. She claimed it was a mosquito bite.
All of this added up! They were definitely sleeping together./
Nolan’s whole body shook, like something regal had woken up inside him. He desperately needed to do something–anything–to vent his anger.
He immediately turned around and rushed downstairs. He jumped in his car and drove straight to where Amelia was staying.
Amelia was out cold when she heard someone ringing the doorbell like crazy.
She groaned and pulled the pillow over her head.
Seriously? Who the hell does that in the middle of the night?
She didn’t want to deal with it, so she pulled our her headphones and put them on.
Peace. Finally.
But Nolan wasn’t giving up. It was as if he couldn’t rest until he saw her.
The ringing escalated into banging, until finally a door across the hall creaked open. Savannah stood there in her silky pajamas, her hair a messy curtain around her face.
“I say, Nolan. It’s the middle of the damn night. I don’t know what kind of meltdown you’re having, but some of us are trying to sleep.”
Nolan’s eyes were bloodshot. He froze when he saw her.
“Savannah?”
She yawned, idly twirling a strand of hair around her finger.
“Yup, it’s me. You’re being loud as hell. Amelia’s probably asleep by now. Whatever this is, deal with it tomorrow. Some of us have lives.”
Chapter 141 Having an Affair
Savannah was the adopted daughter of the Reed family. From a young age, she was brilliant in business, sharp as a blade, and totally self–made.
But the rest of the Reed family? They hated her guts. No one liked an outsider cutting into their inheritance. These days, she was basically frozen out.
And the Reed heir, Tony? Let’s just say their sibling relationship was icy at best.
