For five whole years, Milly had managed to keep up the act. There was no way she’d let all her efforts go to waste. She glanced at the knife Amelia had dropped to the floor. Then she bent down quickly and snatched

Timothy still had a glimmer of hope. But when he saw her pick up the knife again, all of it instantly turned to terror. He asked, “Milly, what are you doing? What are you gonna do?”
Milly was expressionless. Her soft and innocent side had vanished. Instead, a chilling ruthlessness had taken over. “Timothy, don’t blame me. Look, you were killed by those kidnappers tonight. Don’t worry, I’ll avenge you when I find out who’s behind this.”
Timothy was in disbelief. All the hope he had left disappeared. His face went pale. And for a moment, he wondered whether he was only having a nightmare.
But clearly, Milly had no intention of waiting any longer. She’d never dragged things out whenever she did stuff like this. Immediately, she stabbed Timothy’s chest.
His eyes turned bloodshot as he glared at her with hatred. “So this is who you truly are. Milly, you bitch! Just you wait! Just you wait!” He exclaimed with all his might. His voice was filled with extreme despair.
But even then, Milly couldn’t care less. “Timothy, didn’t you say that you’d give everything up for me? Well, I want your life, so you’re gonna hand it over to me.”
She was still able to remain calm and indifferent even as she was murdering someone. It was as if it was natural for others to give up their lives for her.
Timothy’s pupils contracted sharply. He could feel the knife twisting greatly in his chest.
Now he knew that Milly was truly a ruthless person. He regretted that he hadn’t been able to discover her true colors earlier. He was filled with immense hatred. He would’ve gotten his revenge if he had gotten
another chance…
Just then, the door was pushed open, and in came the Chase family. After hearing their footsteps, Milly immediately let go of the knife. Being as cautious as she was, she wiped away all her fingerprints on it.
Then she clung onto Timothy with a panicked expression. “Timothy! Timothy, are you alright? Please don’t die! Somebody help! Help!” Timothy was barely conscious.
Seeing how quickly Milly’s attitude had changed, he was so angered that he coughed up blood before finally -passing out.
Milly was anxious as well. She was worried that Timothy might still be alive. So, she pressed hard on his wound when no one was looking.
The Chase family rushed Timothy to the hospital.
Milly waited anxiously alone in the hallway. Members of the Chase family had arrived. But since Timothy wasn’t as important to them as Logan was, not many people came. Only his parents did.
Milly was still covered in blood. When she saw them, she burst into tears. “Mr. Chase, Mrs. Chase, I’m so sorry. It’s my fault we were kidnapped.” The Chase family hadn’t blamed her, as they were busy waiting anxiously for the operating room doors to open.
Milly was very worried. She prayed desperately that Timothy wouldn’t survive. But two hours later, the

With relief in his voice, he said, “The knife missed his heart, but only by a little. So he’ll need to stay in our intensive care unit for a few days. If he pulls through, he should gradually recover over the next year.
Tears of joy streamed down the Chase family’s faces, while the last trace of hope drained from Milly’s.Only now were the Chase family relieved enough to speak to Milly. “You’re Milly, right? We’re glad you’re not hurt.”
Milly couldn’t force a smile. If Timothy woke up, she was done for. She had to think of something else.
Meanwhile, Amelia and Savannah had already returned home. Savannah tossed her hair. She was clearly pleased with how the night had turned out. She held out a hand to Amelia and said, “I like you’re style of doing things. We should go shopping together sometime.”
Since she had recovered, the only friend Amelia had made was Lily. So without hesitation, she held Savannah’s hand and agreed, “Sure.”
Savannah waved goodbye. “I’ll be heading inside.”
They each returned to their apartments. Amelia was exhausted. After a shower, she collapsed onto her bed and fell asleep.
The next day at work, she was busy with her tasks when someone told her she had a visitor downstairs. When she went down, she saw Celia and Alexander waiting for her.
Alexander looked awkward. He was leaning against a pillar with his arms crossed, refusing to look at Amelia.
On the other hand, Celia rushed over and immediately started scolding her. “Why did you block our numbers? We searched everywhere for you when you didn’t come home last night!
“Milly got into trouble again. She got kidnapped. She’s traumatized now. And everyone’s still talking about the recording. Amelia, I’m not asking much from you. Just admit to everyone that you faked that recording. Admit to it right now”
