The air in the car was thick with tension.
Nicholas didn’t say a word, and Brent didn’t push him. Brent started the car and drove away from Atlantis Hotel.
Watching the hotel fade in the rearview mirror, Brent said, “Ever since your fiancée came back, the Vance family’s been turned upside down. If she really is that person, everything adds up.”
When Brent heard about Daniel’s body just now, all the pieces in his mind suddenly fell into place.
He wondered, ‘Isn’t Margaret always suspicious that Solar Flare has disappeared? If Sharon is Solar Flare, then there’s nothing left to question.
‘But now, an even bigger problem has come up. If Sharon really is Solar Flare, things are about to get a whole lot trickier.
‘No wonder a girl raised in a poor village could stir up so much trouble the moment she came back. And of all people, she’s Boss‘ fiancée!
Thinking about it, Brent suddenly slammed on the brakes, nearly rear–ending the car in front.
Shocked, he blurted out, “B–Boss, do you still remember the grudge you had with Solar Flare five years ago?”
Nicholas‘ eyes snapped open. Of course, he hadn’t forgotten.
He rubbed his temples, thinking, ‘My fiancée sure knows how to give me a headache. Could she really be Solar Flare?
‘No wonder her voice sounded so much like Sharon’s during that racing championship.
‘Back then, I even… Ahem, better not keep thinking!‘
Nicholas‘ fingers twitched, a flicker of awkwardness crossing his face. He told himself, ‘That was just an accident.
‘Now I recall it, the person at the race wasn’t tall. She was just about the same height as Sharon. So it was really the same person.
Remembering their old grudge, Nicholas raised an eyebrow, thinking, ‘This is getting interesting.’
“What’s on your mind, Boss? Is it she or not? Just give it to me straight,” Brent urged.
He wondered, ‘Sure, she looks super suspicious, but we don’t have any hard evidence.
‘What if Daniel just got outplayed, and Sharon turned the tables on him? It’s not impossible–she’s no slouch in a fight.
‘But if that’s the case, how did Daniel even manage to tie her up in the first place?
No matter how I look at it, none of this adds up.‘
Nicholas snapped, “Shut up. You’re way too loud.”
“Boss, I’m just curious and a little nervous, okay?” Brent replied.
Nicholas lifted his eyelids. “Wipe that look off your/face. You’re acting like you’re watching a soap opera.”
He thought, ‘Don’t think I didn’t notice.‘
Brent said, “Ahem, Boss, that’s harsh. I’m just worried about you and trying to analyze the mission. Otherwise, how am I supposed to write the report?
Brent tried his best to keep a straight face, but this whole thing was just too dramatic, and he really couldn’t help himself
He wondered, ‘I can’t wait to see what Boss will do next. Suddenly, life at the academy isn’t so boring anymore.

Chapter 235
‘Sharon is surely something else. No wonder she is Boss‘ fiancée. Awesome, Sharon!‘
Nicholas thought for a moment and said, “Erase any trace of Daniel.”
“Are you sure?” asked Brent.
Nicholas nodded. “Yeah. I’ll take care of the rest of the investigation myself.”
He thought, ‘If word gets out to the academy too soon, Sharon is going to have a rough time. The House of Obsidian isn’t nearly as peaceful as it looks.
‘She’s my fiancée, so it’s my job to protect her. No matter who she is or how she became Solar Flare, I’ll get to the bottom of it.
Brent wasn’t surprised at all. He knew his boss would cover for Sharon. After all, it was his fiancée.
Brent thought, ‘When she’s not fighting or causing trouble, she’s actually pretty sweet and harmless. Only Boss can handle someone like her.
Brent couldn’t help but picture a whole drama–The female lead was a ruthless killer, and the male lead was the leader of a mafia.
They were supposed to be mortal enemies, only for him to suddenly realize his fiancée was actually a killer.
Brent thought, ‘It feels like an epic love–hate story is about to unfold. This is so exciting.‘
The car pulled back into the House of Obsidian.
Margaret was already waiting. She cut right to the chase. “I heard they found a body at the bottom of the cliff.”
Nicholas looked unfazed. “Yeah.”
“Our people did find a body. Looks like there was a fight near the edge, and someone got tossed off. You know Daniel, and he’d never risk himself for an injured teammate. He’d just leave them behind,” Brent explained.
He’d already come up with this story on the way back.
There was no hiding the fact that a body turned up, but as for who it was–that part could be changed.
Margaret still looked a little suspicious, but she didn’t dwell on it. It never even crossed her mind that the body could be Daniel.
She quickly switched topics. “Mr. Baxter, the operation failed. The inspection team from above has already come by to ask questions.”
Everyone knew this wasn’t going to be simple.
“I got it.” Nicholas headed straight for his office, acting like he couldn’t care less.
Margaret frowned, hoping the Vance family could step in and have Sharon take the fall. Maybe then Nicholas‘ punishment would be lighter,
But Margaret honestly wasn’t sure if Nicholas would really throw Sharon under the bus.
