Chapter 107 Nowhere to Hide
Her tears flowed even more as she gazed up at Nolan. “Nolan, I’m sorry. I couldn’t protect our baby
Nolan stood frozen. The child had come and gone so quickly that it barely felt real, leaving him numb and disoriented.
He pulled Milly into his arms, her so
echoing in his cars, while his chest tightened with pain.
Then, a sinister thought surfaced. If word spread throughout Solandis that Amelia was mentally unstable, she would be forever shut out from the Hale family.
Regardless of whether her involvement with Dylan was genuine, once this scandal broke, Calum would never allow her to get close.
Just like before, he stayed silent. He gently patted Milly’s back, trying to comfort her without words.
If Amelia delayed any longer, the Summers family bodyguards would show up, leaving her with no chance
to escape.
Without hesitation, she turned and hurried down the corridor toward the exit.
Celia was so enraged that she nearly lost consciousness. Without hesitation, she contacted the Summers family bodyguards and ordered them to capture Amelia.
Though Amelia reacted quickly and drove away from the hospital, she soon realized she had nowhere safe to escape to.
Celia was well aware of her current residence, which meant the bodyguards would head straight there. Returning home would be like walking into a trap.-
Reaching out to Lily wasn’t an option either. Though Lily was her only friend, Amelia didn’t want to involve her in the chaos.

She eventually parked her car on the outskirts of the city and waited as the clock ticked past 10 pm. The rain. poured relentlessly, but she still had no idea where she could hide from the Summers family.
Raindrops hammered loudly against the car windows.
Slowly, Amelia started the engine. She had only driven a few hundred meters when suddenly, a violent impact struck her car.
Bang!
She spotted someone stepping out of the car across the street and instantly recognized him as one of the Summers family bodyguards.
Without a second thought, she abandoned her car and plunged into the chaotic stream of traffic.
With traffic surging around them, the bodyguards stood stranded on the opposite side, powerless as she vanished into the crowd.
Drenched and shivering, Amelia lifted a shaky hand to hail a taxi.
The driver rolled down the window and asked, “Where to?”

She hugged herself tightly, suddenly at a loss.
After a moment’s hesitation, she pulled out her phone and dialed Dylan’s number.
Ever since she woke up, only Lily and Dylan had treated her with any kindness.
But Dylan didn’t answer.
Instead, it was Nathan who picked up.
“Ms. Summers, what do you want?”
Nathan’s voice was cold, his disdain for her barely hidden.
Everyone around Dylan treated her the same way, as if her mere presence would somehow contaminate him.
She opened her mouth to speak, but no words came out. In the end, she simply hung up.
With no other option, she went to Nocturne. Given its powerful backing, she knew no one would dare stir up trouble there.
But she was soaked through, and the people at the entrance refused to let her inside.
She found herself at a standstill when Dylan appeared, flanked by a group of onlookers.
Though he remained seated in his wheelchair, his presence was every bit as commanding as anyone standing.
As soon as she spotted him, a glimmer of hope flashed in Amelia’s eyes.
Dylan caught sight of her as well. After saying a few words to those around him, they promptly stepped aside.
Without a word, he maneuvered his wheelchair past her.
The light in Amelia’s eyes faded, and a sharp pain pierced her chest.
But she understood. With so many eyes watching, maybe Dylan truly didn’t want to be seen with her.
She lowered her gaze, about to leave, when his voice stopped her.
“Aren’t you coming?”
Her head snapped up. She stared at his back, eyes shining with disbelief.
Dylan had already paused and was glancing over his shoulder. “Didn’t you say you had nowhere to go?”
So he had already pieced everything together.
Forcing a slightly embarrassed smile, she said, “I don’t have anywhere else to go, and someone’s trying to find me. Mr. Hale, would you mind letting me stay at your place for a few days?”
Dylan kept his gaze clsewhere, responding with a faint, indifferent hum.
Amelia quickly caught up, her voice brimming with gratitude.

“Thank you. I truly don’t know how to make it up to you.”
She stepped into the car and gently pulled the door shut behind her.

The interior was luxurious, and she hesitated, embarrassed to sit on the leather seats while she was still soaked. Just then, a towel appeared in front of her.
Amelia’s face was delicate, her lashes long, and in that moment, she looked especially fragile.
But beneath that fragile exterior was a quiet resilience. She had never been the type to lean on others for support.
She ran the towel through her hair a few times and let out a soft sigh.
The car began to move slowly. Outside Nocturne, several bodyguards were questioning people one by one.
Her face went pale. Instinctively, she shifted closer to Dylan.
He caught a faint scent from her, and his eyes drifted to the faint mark on her skin.
It hadn’t faded. It lingered like a medal, worn and silent.
Right then, she looked like a stray puppy who was lost and utterly pitiful.
With a sigh, Amelia acknowledged that she couldn’t keep avoiding things forever.
Setting the towel aside, she heard him ask, “What happened?”
