Chapter 103 A Misunderstanding
So even rich people’s homes had mosquitoes.

Out of the corner of her eye, she saw a brand–new toothbrush prepared next to the sink. She quickly washed up and went downstairs.
It was 6:00 am, early in the morning, but breakfast had already been laid out on the table, and Dylan was seated by the floor–to–ceiling window, speaking on the phone.
Amelia hadn’t disturbed him. She intended to greet the housekeeper and quietly leave, but was stopped.
“Ms. Summers, please have breakfast before you go. Mr. Hale insisted.”
A warmth rose in Amelia’s heart.
Dylan really was someone with a cold exterior and a warm heart.
“Has he eaten?”
“Not yet. He wanted to eat with you.”
So she sat down at the dining table. She expected to wait a while, but the moment he saw her sit, Dylan ended his call.
He maneuvered his wheelchair over to the table and quietly began eating his breakfast.
Amelia originally wanted to say “good morning,” but she thought she saw his ears flush red.
Although his demeanor was cold and his skin usually pale, like a calm and noble gentleman from an oil painting, his ears were so red.
She didn’t think too much of it and lowered her head, trying to finish her breakfast quickly. When the housekeeper beside her suddenly asked.
“Ms. Summers, what happened to your neck?”
Dylan’s hand paused slightly as he held the fork, but then he calmly resumed cutting his bread.
Amelia casually touched her neck, not feeling much. “Not sure. Maybe too many mosquitoes last night.”
The housekeeper handed her a bottle of ointment and reminded her, “Apply some of this.”
“Thank you.”
She obediently applied a bit of the cream and finished her breakfast. Just as she was about to leave, she noticed Dylan was getting ready to leave as well.
Since they were both heading to the company, avoiding him now would only seem unnatural.
She waited at the door until he arrived, then quietly helped push his wheelchair.
Once they got into the car, she initially intended to sit in the driver’s seat, but as she bent over, she saw that Nathan was already there.
She had no choice but to sit at the back.

When the car arrived at the Hale Corporation’s underground parking lot, she got out first and was about to open the door for Dylan, but Nathan beat her to it.
Nathan spoke curtly. “Ms. Summers, you’d best head up first.”
Clearly, he was trying to avoid suspicion.
Amelia took the hint and went up on her own.
Nathan had never liked her, and there was no need for her to exhaust herself emotionally over his attitude.
As soon as she reached the top floor, she ran into Nolan.
His eyes were ringed with dark circles. Upon seeing her, he let out a cold snort.
He was being ridiculous. She turned away and sat at her workstation.
It didn’t take long for him to come over and knock on her desk.
Alexander broke his leg while street racing last night. He’s in the hospital. Celia wants you to come with me to visit him.”
What kind of madness was Alexander up to now, street racing in the middle of the night?
Though she cursed him inwardly, she was still worried about her foolish little brother.
Alexander wasn’t the worst, so she wasn’t going to be so cruel to him.
“I don’t want to go with you. I’ll go on my own.”
Nolan came closer to her and smelled her fragrance.
Amelia was different from other women. She had never used perfume, so she had a unique smell to her.
He couldn’t help but take a deep breath, as if addicted.
Amelia wanted to slap him, but refrained when she heard Dylan’s wheelchair,
From Dylan’s perspective, Amelia and Nolan were too close for comfort.
Nolan could feel Dylan’s presence, so he purposefully went closer to Amelia, àlmost brushing against her face.
Amelia frowned and pushed Nolan away, but was stunned at what Nolan said next.
“You spent the night at Dylan’s place?”
She froze. How could he have known? He must’ve paid someone to follow her!
“You paid someone to follow me?”
Nolan’s expression darkened, and he grabbed her wrist. “Have someone to follow you?”
Nolan hadn’t paid someone to follow her; he just saw Amelia and Dylan getting into the same car. He wanted to confront them directly, but the car then turned into Palm Bay.

Back then, Amelia hated Dylan with all her being; she would’ve never stayed in Palm Bay.
She stayed there the whole night.
He was passed out, he hadn’t slept a wink, but he could still make out the red mark on her collar.
Nolan looked like he was about to lose it, and he yanked her collar down.
“Amelia! What is this? What did you guys do?”
Startled, Amelia raised her hand to cover her collar.
