Chapter 94 Milly’s Pregnant?
The woman had kept a low profile. Nearly no one in Solandis knew what Jonathan’s wife looked like. An anyone had heard was that she was perfect wife material.
But Jonathan didn’t want a docile puppet, He wanted to choose his partner.
Amelia sat silently for ten minutes, listening to Jonathan complain endlessly about the wife he didn’t ever recognize.
She glanced toward Dylan. The bond between him and Jonathan was strong enough that he would come to a place like this just to lend a hand.
Half an hour passed. Jonathan finally arrived at a solution. He would start an affair, flaunt it openly, and wait for his wife to lose patience and demand a divorce.
The thought improved his mood. But whenever his gaze swept over to Amelia, it still brimmed with hostility.
Amelia didn’t dare be left alone with him. The moment she saw Dylan preparing to leave, she quickly followed.
She considered placing her hands on the wheelchair handles to help, but the thought of the deceased Ms. Grant stopped her. She pulled her hands back quietly.
Dylan led the way, and she trailed silently behind until they turned into a quiet corner.
There, under dim lighting, the men who had tried to harass her were now kneeling, their heads stuffed into a sack.
Amelia’s eyes widened in surprise. She was about to ask who had done it when Dylan answered calmly. “They were acting on Timothy’s orders.”
Timothy, the lap dog, followed Milly everywhere. In the end, it was still Milly stirring up trouble.
Amelia didn’t understand why Dylan was helping her, but she thanked him quickly. “Thank you, Mr. Hale.”
He didn’t reply, nor did he offer further help. Instead, he maneuvered his wheelchair toward a different path.
But there was a small staircase ahead. He paused. The wheelchair couldn’t go up on its own.
Amelia had planned to leave, but seeing this, she stepped forward without hesitation and pushed him up the stairs.
“Amelia,” Dylan called out suddenly. She thought she’d misheard him. Her hands trembled.
“Yes?”
“Did you come here for Nolan?”
Amelia didn’t know how to answer. Technically, she had.
But the real reason had more to do with uncovering the truth about Ms. Grant’s tragedy. She couldn’t tell him the truth. Ms. Grant was one of Dylan’s sore spots.

Yes.”
As soon as she answered, the air around them seemed to shift. Amelia heard a quiet, mocking laugh escape him.
He didn’t say anything else. He simply maneuvered his wheelchair forward.
Amelia stood frozen for a moment, dazed. Then she understood. He thought she still hadn’t let go of Nolan. He must believe she wasn’t good enough to marry into the Hale family.
She took a deep breath. What an injustice.
But this wasn’t the time to get tangled in that. She needed to deal with Timothy before the danger repeated itself today.
Just then, a call from James came. In her memory, she’d rarely spoken to her father.
James said sternly, “Milly is getting married. How long are you going to keep making trouble out there? She’s resting now because she’s unwell. She wants to eat your cooking. Come home.”
Amelia nearly laughed aloud. This family was determined.
Then his tone dropped. “If anything happens to Milly’s child, it will be your fault.”
Amelia’s eyes narrowed. So Milly’s baby had to be protected at all costs?
Amelia returned to the Summers family. Before she even entered, she heard Celia chiding. “Milly, eat something. Nolan is already on his way.”
Milly was curled up on the couch, shaking her head. When she saw Amelia step in, a sharp gleam flickered in her eyes.
“Amelia? Why are you home?”
Amelia’s gaze dropped to Milly’s stomach. It wasn’t even showing yet.
Milly flinched at the look in Amelia’s eyes, instinctively shifting closer to Celia.
Celia immediately stepped in front of Milly, glaring at Amelia. “What kind of look is that? Milly is not some random woman. If you think about hurting the baby, I won’t forgive you.”
Amelia stared at the fear and hostility in her mother’s eyes, and a chill settled over her chest.
Was she the Summers family’s daughter? How could parents treat their child this way?
Amelia walked in a few more steps and saw James sitting nearby.
Alexander scoffed, turning his head. But in a strange, begrudging tone, he offered comfort. “Amelia, you can see it. Milly is pregnant. You and Nolan have no future. Just be good and marry Felix. Mom already agreed. After Milly’s wedding, it’ll be your turn.”
Amelia sat down, calm, her tone light. She looked over and asked Alexander a question.
