Chapter 223
Sharon’s face turned stormy.
Jannie retorted right away. “Hey, old man, who are you calling thort?”
Cameron covered his face, wishing he could pretend he didn’t know Jannie. He thought. Seriously, is Hør brain aver
Sharon ground her teeth, looking at Jannie. “You really didn’t have to say anything.
Jannie instantly caught on and slapped a hand over her own mouth, thinking, Crap, I totally said the wrong thing
Sharon was speechless–she’d never seen such a clueless teammate.
She looked up at Daniel, her tone flat. “Alright, what brought you here?”
Ever since the founder of the Hunter Forum died, Daniel faded into the background, hardly ever showing his face in public, terrified someona nig after him.
After all, he made way too many enemies in this business.
Daniel looked up. “It’s nothing major. I just heard you spent one billion Hunter Coins recently–pretty bold move. As a forum admin, have to ask
“Yeah, just had something that needed money.” Sharon didn’t even bother to look up, her eyelids drooping like she hadn’t woken up yet
A flash of annoyance crossed Daniel’s face. “The Hunter Forum isn’t just yours. You drop one billion coins like it’s nothing. Do you even care abo timers? When Boss died, we were the ones who kept this forum running.”
Lately, Sharon had been making a big splash. Every time she made a move, it was a mountain of coins–enough to cause a huge stir in the outside world.
She spent money like it was water. A lot of people were getting fed up.
People weren’t happy when the previous boss handed things over to a rookie like Sharon. Now, that rookie turned into the daughter of the Vance family.
And on top of that, she’d spent a fortune to become the head of the Vance family. After that, she still acted as arrogantly as ever.
With so many people eyeing her position, one slip and everything could be exposed.
Anyone who could throw around so many coins was bound to attract attention. If someone really wanted to dig, all their covers would be blown.
The House of Obsidian’s crackdown on people like them had only gotten harsher these past years. If they were caught, it was almost a death sentence.
They had made enough money, and none of them wanted to die.
Sharon let out a cold laugh, her eyes icy as she stared at Daniel. “Just one billion coins. I spent it, and so what? If you’ve got a problem, spit it out.”
Then her tone turned harsh. “But I’m not taking orders from you.”
Daniel’s face turned cold. “If you’re so stubborn, don’t blame us for teaching you a lesson. Boss gave us the right to keep you in check.”
Sharon retorted, “Oh, he gave you that right? But do you really deserve it?”
Sharon rolled up her sleeves, showing off her tattoos. She glanced at the familiar patterns, her gaze indifferent. “If you weren’t afraid of death back then, he wouldn’t have ended up like that.
“You wanted to split up the Hunter Forum but didn’t want a boss who stirred up trouble. You really think he didn’t see through you?”
Daniel’s eyes narrowed, suddenly on guard. “What are you trying to say?”

Daniel let out a cold laugh. “If that’s how you want it, don’t blame us for what happens next

Many men in black suddenly appeared around, their bodies were fitted with the pressure of high–ranking martial artists, and their eyes were safe and piercing.
The atmosphere in the warehouse changed in an instant.
Cameron, Riley, and Jannie all moved to Sharon’s side, forming a protective circle around her.
Sharon turned her head, fixing Daniel with a steely gaze. Her eyes were cold and lifeless without a hint of emotion in them.
When Daniel met her gaze, a chill crept up his spine. He couldn’t say why, but this girl seriously gave him the creeps/
Even though he’d come fully prepared, he actually felt a little uneasy right now.
Daniel took a few steps back, and Sharon flashed him a smile, which was downright unsettling.
The panic he’d felt just moments ago quickly turned into real fear. For a split second, he had the illusion he was staring at the previous boss.
“Get her. Grab her, but don’t kill her,” Daniel shouted.
Frightened, Daniel stumbled backward, tripped over something on the ground, and scrambled to his feet–only to find himself face to face with a pair of black knee–high boots.
He looked up to see Sharon bending over, watching him with a soft, mocking laugh, “Need a hand?”
Daniel froze and then turned his head, thinking, ‘This isn’t how things are supposed to go.
I brought so many top fighters this time, all stronger than high–ranking martial artists. Every last one of them is a hardened criminal. This can’t be.
But when he looked back, his eyes went wide. Most of the high–ranking martial artists were already sprawled on the ground, completely helpless.
Daniel’s gaze landed on Sharon’s three lackeys, his eyes full of disbelief. He wondered, ‘How could they possibly be this strong?”
Cameron stood on the outer edge, his black uniform soaked in blood, his pale face twisted and menacing.
Riley gripped a dagger, the sharp tip still dripping with blood.
Jannie stood in the center. She turned her head, blood smeared across her pale cheek, her eyes burning red, looking absolutely feral.
These three were nothing like who they were just moments ago and nothing like how Daniel remembered them.
“This can’t be real. Boss actually hand them over to you? They’re his carefully trained weapons. Why would he give them to you?” Daniel said.
He finally recognized who the three of them were. He’d seen them before. Back then, they were just kids, and the girl was still a baby. “Think it’s unfair?” Sharon stomped on Daniel’s hand, leaned down, and stared him in the eye. “That’s because you’re just too weak.”
She freed up a hand and slapped him across the face, leaving a bright red handprint.
Daniel was stunned. He caught the metallic scent of blood and looked down, only to see that Sharon’s white gloves were already stained red..
