In the upper crust, marrying out of genuine love was rare. Most kept up appearances at home while. indulging in affairs outside.
Jessica used to be terrified of becoming a laughingstock–her pride meant everything to her. But today, none of that seemed to matter anymore.
“Sharon Payne! Open the door now!”
Sharon and Eric had spent the night together. Since she’d made her choice, she wasn’t worried about the consequences. Eric, lying beside her, was already awake.
He was no stranger to waking up next to a lover, but the moment he realized who was beside him this time and quickly put on his glasses, his expression changed.
“Sharon?”
Sharon had already gotten out of bed and opened the door, immediately getting into a scuffle with Jessica. With onlookers gathering and snapping photos, the scene quickly spiraled out of control.
It was Eric’s first time facing such chaos. The whole place was in an uproar.
Amelia had chosen the right person to be the instigator.
Sharon wasn’t afraid of trouble, after all. Noticing the crowd taking pictures, she boldly declared her affair with Eric and revealed that she and Jessica were sisters.
The news was explosive–few in their circle would dare to be so brazen.
It was inevitable that word would reach Calum, especially since he was already aware of Milly’s pregnancy and had been paying close attention to Eric’s family.
When he heard the news, he turned to his butler for confirmation.
“Are you saying that Eric and Sharon were caught red–handed by her own sister, Jessica?”
“Yes, sir. The word is out, and there are photos.”
Under Calum’s watch, the Hale family was known for its litany of rules.
“Did someone set them up? Who’s behind it?” he roared, slamming the table.
He would do anything to catch the person who dared to scheme against the Hale family.
The butler leaned closer to him and said in a low voice, “The surveillance footage at Nocturne isn’t complete. No one was caught on camera.”
No one in Solandis knew who really owned Nocturne. The mysterious boss had never made an appearance, but everyone
knew Nocturne was a goldmine, and.no one dared cause trouble there. It was the favorite haunt of the rich and privileged./
Calum could try to pressure Nocturne through special channels and perhaps uncover the mastermind, but to do so himself would be beneath his dignity–especially over such a scandalous affair among the younger generation.

The marriage between Nolan and Milly had already been in the works, but previously, the Summers family had arranged a match for Amelia. Now, with a single command, Milly and Nolan’s wedding was set for the end of the month.
Ironically, that had originally been Amelia’s wedding date.
Milly was delighted, her hand instinctively resting on her belly.
“Mom, what about Amelia and Felix?”
Amelia was supposed to marry someone as awful as Felix, but now, Milly’s wedding would come first. If she managed to escape her fate because of this, Milly would never accept it.
“Why not just send her straight to Felix’s house? She’s been so unruly lately–maybe she just needs a man to keep her in line.”
Having always doted on Milly, Celia agreed right away. “Don’t worry. Once your wedding is settled, I’ll send Amelia over.”
Milly breathed a sigh of relief. The thought of Amelia being stuck with someone like Felix for life made her smile.
She quickly pulled out her phone and sent Amelia a message.
“Amelia, you have to come to my wedding with Nolan. Thank you for picking out such a wonderful husband for me all these years. I’m so glad!”
“Congratulations,” was all that came from Amelia.
Staring at the cold, terse reply, Milly felt unsettled. Amelia didn’t seem upset at all–how could that be?
She immediately called Amelia, but Amelia didn’t answer.
Fuming, Milly gripped her phone tightly and sent another message.
“The first day I returned to the Summers family, seeing you in a dress standing next to Nolan, I knew two would never have a future.
you
“Amelia, you’ll never be better than me. Everyone around you will always prefer me, and they will all turn their backs on you.”
Amelia simply blocked her. Now that the wedding date had been moved up, she could finally be free of these two people.
But her relief didn’t last long–Nolan showed up at her door.
He’d been following Amelia the night before and knew she’d spent a long time at Nocturne. Then, his own father’s scandal broke,
“Amelia, did you set my father up?”
He didn’t know why he suspected her, but after the chaos at home that morning, his mind kept going back

to Amelia. He rushed over, determined to confront her about this matter.
Amelia didn’t open the door. She sounded calm behind the door.
“Do you really think I’m capable of that?”
“Amelia!”
Nolan pounded on the door in frustration, breathing heavily as he stood outside.
