Chapter 75 Dinner Invitation
Amelia found it amusing and glanced at Milly.
Milly’s eyes sparkled with pride, as if having a man like Nolan by her side were come kind of hates of honor.
She linked her arm around Nolan’s.
Jessica invited me to dinner too. I thought I’d come find Nolan Amelia, do you want to ride with we
Amelia, of course, had no intention of joining them. She turned to open her car door–only to notice several deep scratches on the tire.
Her eyes narrowed as she glanced at Milly.
Milly’s lips curled into a smirk. “Oh, your tire’s busted? Looks like you’ll have to come with us.”
But in Nolan’s eyes, the situation played out very differently.
He was convinced Amelia had deliberately sabotaged her own tire. After all, her car was brand new–how could it possibly have broken down already?
Her earlier act of playing hard to get was just a ruse. She’d already decided to ride in his car.
A familiar sense of satisfaction rose in his chest. So, Amelia was still willing to pull little tricks for his sake.
He couldn’t help but smile, then pulled Milly closer by the waist, almost as if showing off.
“Milly, hop in first.”
Milly took the front passenger seat, and Nolan even buckled her seatbelt for her with great care.
After closing the door, he turned to Amelia, chin raised. “You sit in the back. Hurry up. Don’t keep my mo waiting.”
Instead, Amelia simply called a car repair service to come change the tire, then walked ahead to hail a tax
Seeing that she wasn’t getting in his car, Nolan grew anxious and hurried after her.
But just then, Milly rolled down the window. “Nolan…”
That one line froze Nolan in place.
Suddenly, it dawned on him–maybe Amelia was upset because Milly had taken the front seat.
A long time ago, Amelia had said that only she could sit in the passenger seat.
But ever since Milly appeared, that/rule had been broken.
Nolan got back in the car, frustration bubbling inside him.
He floored the gas pedal and caught a glimpse of Amelia standing by the roadside, flagging down a cab.
He couldn’t help stealing another glance, gripping the steering wheel tighter.

Seated beside him, Milly’s face twisted with anger, her lips préced into a thin line
“Nolan, maybe we should let Amelia in the car. Otherwise, it’ll be hard to explain to leadi
Nolan had wanted an excuse to talk to Amelia anyway, but his pride held him back Meetha Milly suggested it, he considered rolling down the window.
Then Milly added with a sigh, “But Amelia messaged me today. I wonder if she did it on purpose, just in la see you two together..”
Nolan slammed his foot on the gas.
Of course–Amelia couldn’t possibly not care about him. The woman who once nearly jumped off a building to keep their engagement wouldn’t just stop loving him overnight.
He couldn’t let himself be fooled.
In the rearview mirror, Milly kept her eyes fixed on Amelia’s retreating figure, her frustration barely hidden
Clenching her fists, she secretly texted Timothy.
“Timothy, I think Nolan really likes Amelia. What should I do…”
The message instantly triggered Timothy’s protective instincts, as if Milly were in distress.
He’d already contacted Felix Payne, and now he called him again.
“Felix, Amelia’s going to Jessica’s place for dinner today. What are you waiting for?”
Felix, already in a foul mood, didn’t hesitate. He immediately headed to Jessica’s villa.
All his sisters were on his side–no matter what trouble he caused, they’d always cover for him.
Last time, Amelia had made a fool of him. He was determined to make her pay dearly for it!
Standing before the villa, Amelia felt a strange sense of familiarity. She rang the doorbell, and Mrs. Sally answered.
Inside, she could hear Milly’s flattering voice/directed at Jessica. “Jessica, you look even younger than whe last saw you! Here, I brought you some tea–Nolan said it’s your favorite.”
“Milly, you always know how to please people.”
The two of them chatted away, sounding almost like family.
Amelia stood at the door and handed her gift to Mrs. Sally.
Mrs. Sally rolled her eyes as she took the box and rummaged through it. “Ms. Summers, did you bring les this time? Where’s the scented candle I like? Didn’t you buy it?”
Amelia was momentarily stunned, wondering if she’d misheard.
Mrs. Sally dug through the box for another two minutes. When she was sure it wasn’t there, her expressic

that candle needs to be ordered in advance–how could you be so careless?*
Her tone was full of complaint and dissatisfaction. Amelia let out a striall laugh.
“Are you talking to me?“.
Mrs, Sally frowned and set the gift box aside. “Who else? Never mind, I won’t say more. If you can forget something so small, just come in already.”
