Chapter 71 Unspoken Care
Dylan closed the windows, leaving only the curtains open. The temperature in the room gradually dropped
He turned around and searched for a blanket.
Just as he draped it over Amelia, a knock sounded at the door. It was Nathan.
“Mr. Hale, the meeting will start in half an hour.”
He had originally planned to eat here, but now he was running seriously late. There was still an evening meeting scheduled, one with the overseas team.
“Bring the laptop and the Bluetooth headset,” Dylan instructed.
Nathan brought them in. Dylan opened the laptop and put on the headset, preparing to attend the meeting right there.
Nathan didn’t dare go far, so he waited outside the building.–
As soon as the meeting started, the overseas executives noticed something–Dylan’s voice was unusually low, as if he couldn’t speak loudly. Everyone had to hold their breath to catch what he was saying, but no one dared ask him to raise his voice.
Halfway through the meeting, another knock came at the door.
This time, it was Nolan. He never showed Amelia much respect, and his knocks were loud and aggressive.
All the executives on the call heard it, but no one said a word. They simply pretended nothing was happening.
Dylan frowned. He could hear Nolan shouting from outside.
“Amelia Summers! Who gave you permission to transfer departments? Why didn’t you discuss it with me first? You’re getting more and more out of line!
He had thought that by putting her in a managerial role, she would be forced to come begging at him.
He hadn’t expected her to simply quit the department and transfer elsewhere, leaving him with no leverage.
“You’d better explain yourself!” Nolan shouted.
Dylan picked up his phone and called Nolan.
“Go work overtime at the office.”
Nolan was stunned. This was the first time Dylann had ever called him directly, especially about work.
fol
He was arrogant, but he knew full well that his position at Hale Corporation existed solely because of his family. He’d never had to work overtime.
But since Dylan had ordered it, he had no choice, though he was clearly unhappy about it.
“Dylan, do you know about Amelia transferring departments?”
“Yes. Anything else?”

Nolan pressed his lips and clenched his fists.
“I don’t want her to transfer. Can you make her come back?”
Dylan’s fingers paused on the keyboard. The camera was on, and all the executives could see his face
His
Pression was calm, but a flash of mockery passed through his eyes.
“If that’s all, I’m hanging up.”
“Dylan!”
Nolan, furious, pounded on the door again, waking Amelia from her sleep.
She slowly opened her eyes and sat up on the sofa. She asked drowsily, “What’s that noise?”
The executives watching the meeting noticed that, although Dylan’s expression didn’t change, the atmosphere seemed to lighten instantly.
There was a woman next to him?
Everyone was curious. It was late at night–surely she wasn’t just a colleague. Could she be the future Mrs. Hale?
Dylan turned to Amelia and spoke softly, “It’s nothing. Go back to sleep.”
Amelia didn’t have the energy to think much and soon drifted off again.
She slept until midnight, waking up in her own bed–only to realize her clothes had been changed.
She sat up abruptly, grabbing at her shirt and glancing down at her pants.
The soiled pants were gone.
Did Dylan change her clothes?
Her cheeks flushed bright red. No way, right?
She hurried out of the room, but Dylan was already gone. On the table, there was only a covered bowl of oatmeal.
Amelia felt feverish all over and realized she’d already taken a shower.
If Dylan had done all this–changed her clothes, bathed her, and tucked her in–then hadn’t he seen everything?
Her scalp tingled. Would Dylan really do something like that?
She paced around anxiously, wanting to ask him but lacking the courage.
She agonized over it until midnight. She still couldn’t sleep.
So she turned to the internet.
Amelia wrote in the first post. “My male boss gave me a bath. What does this tell you about our relationship?”

Then, she wrote a second post. “Passed out from period pain, woke up to find my male boss had changed my pants and bathed me. What should I do?”
She posted two threads in a row, her face still burning.
She didn’t even want to go to work the next day. It would be too awkward to face Dylan.
Soon, the comments started pouring in.
“Are you sure he’s just your boss and not your boyfriend?”
“My boyfriend wouldn’t even do that for me. Your boss is definitely into you!”
“Forget about boyfriends. Even my husband isn’t that attentive. You don’t seem to mind it either—why not just get together?”
“Girl, your relationship is definitely something else.”
Amelia replied, “He’s not interested in me at all.”
That comment drew even more responses.
“How could he not be? You’re just too oblivious. How does he treat others compared to you?”
