Chapter 64 Do You Hate Me
Amelia wasn’t someone who suffered in silence. She would never let Sophia push her around.
“Thank you, Mr. Hale.” Amelia lowered her head and ate her oatmeal. From the corner of her eye, she watched Dylan walk to the couch nearby.
Today, Dylan wasn’t dressed in his usual dark suit. Instead, he had opted for light–colored loungewear, which no longer made him seem as aloof as before. Instead, he looked surprisingly gentle.
Amelia quickly finished her oatmeal before getting out of bed. “Mr. Hale, I think I’ve learned massaging techniques before. Shall I massage your leg?”
Last night, Dylan had risked aggravating his injury to save her. He even brought her to his place. Although he still intimidated her, she was still very grateful for his help.
Dylan looked at Amelia while holding a book. It was really odd how he came off so aloof while dressed in a suit. Yet, he looked so striking in his loungewear at home, making it hard for her to look away.
No wonder so many socialites in Solandis secretly admired him.
Dylan hummed in response. Since Amelia had his permission, she quickly grabbed a small stool and sat beside him. She placed her hands on his leg and began to massage gently.
Amelia hadn’t lied about having learned massaging before. Although she barely remembered anything, she knew very well that she had taken the classes very seriously. However, she had no idea who she had learned it for.
Sometimes, massaging could easily turn intimate, especially when she slowly moved upward. Her fingertips inevitably brushed against the inside of his thigh.
After a few times, Dylan set his book down and grabbed Amelia by the wrist, making her look up at him in astonishment.
Dylan’s gaze was calm as he ran his fingertips lightly over her wrist. Amelia’s face flushed instantly, and she awkwardly tried to pull away.
“Must you massage so high up?” It was Dylan’s leg that hurt, not his inner thigh.
Amelia felt misunderstood, as if she had been taking advantage of him. She quickly explained, “It’s best to
massage
the whole area. You’ll recover faster.”
Dylan released her hand and lay sideways on the couch. He propped his head up with one hand and fixed his unwavering gaze on her.
Amelia had never seen this side of Dylan before. He was the complete opposite of his usual aloof self. From the way he lay on his side, only two words could describe him–Pure temptation.
Her cheeks grew warmer. Amelia dared not look at Dylan as she silently continued the massage. No matter what she did, she was careful not to move her hands any higher.
After a while, she heard him chuckle softly.
Amelia wished she could bury her head even lower. She knew she probably looked extremely ridiculous now. Her head was pressed against the couch, and her cheeks were as red as a tomato.
Chapter 64 Do You Hate Me
Amelia pulled away before saying somewhat angrily. “I’m done.”
As soon as she said it, she felt even more awkward. Why did she sound coquettish?
The room fell silent, and only their breathing could be heard.
Dylan’s intimidating demeanor was overwhelming Amelia. She didn’t really understand him, but she could not deny that he had a magnetic pull over women.
She quickly got up from the stool. “Mr. Hale, I’ll head back now.”
She walked off in a hurry. But as soon as she opened the door, Dylan called out to her. “I’ll get Nathan to drive you home.”
“Alright. Thank you.”
Amelia regretted her decision once she got into the car. Nathan clearly didn’t like her. It was impossible for her to ignore the way he scrutinized her. Even from the backseat, she could feel the disdain and contempt in his gaze.
Once they arrived at her place, she couldn’t help but ask, “Mr. Rowe, do you hate me?”
Nathan’s hands rested on the steering wheel as he spoke indifferently. “I still don’t know what your real. intentions are, Ms. Summers.
“But no matter what you are, I hope you’ll behave yourself. Mr. Hale might have let you off once, but he might not do it again. He’s not that forgiving.”
If Amelia pushed Dylan too far, no one could save her.
Meanwhile, Amelia was taken aback by Nathan’s words. Despite being Dylan’s assistant, he had the guts to say that his boss wasn’t a forgiving person. It seemed like Dylan wasn’t as aloof as others described.
Amelia opened the car door. She was about to get out when Nathan spoke again. “Ms. Summers, I meant what I said. You can’t stop someone once they go mad.”
Amelia just took it as Nathan warning her to stay away from Dylan. She merely smiled. “I’ll keep that in mind.”
Nathan could tell from her attitude that she hadn’t taken his warning seriously. She would only understand once she suffered punishment.
By the time Nathan had returned to the villa, Dylan was already waiting in his study, which was filled with a heavy, understated luxury. He sat in a chair while reading a book.
Having sensed that Nathan had entered the study, Dylan asked, “Did you send her home?”
“Yes.”
Dylan turned a page. He propped his head up with one hand and said nothing more.
Nathan stood there for a minute before asking, “What about Sophia? Should we do anything about her?”
Dylan’s eyes twitched slightly, but his tone remained indifferent. “No need.”
Nathan had worked for Dylan for years, yet he still didn’t understand him well enough.
Chapter 64 Do You Hate Me
Dylan claimed not to care about Amelia. Even though she was the reason why his legs were crippled for the past two years, he said nothing and left the country quietly on his own.
