Chapter 57 Milly’s Mistakes
She screamed and instantly went into Nolan’s embrace.
Nolan’s face was scratched all over by the glass fragments. When he was holding Milly, he remembered spending a night with Amelia. They had passed a massive glass window that had suddenly exploded during that time. While he was looking at them in disbelief, it was Amelia who rushed over and covered him with her body.
He had always received good treatment from Amelia, who genuinely cared about him. He was now being used as a human shield by Milly.

Nolan was unsettled by the stark contrast. But he could still hear Milly’s sobs.
She whimpered, “Nolan, I think I’m hurt.” She brought her scratched hand up, bringing Nolan back to the
present.
Government officials came to their aid right away and were able to safely remove them both.
When they arrived at the hospital, the person in charge of Sienna Valley looked troubled. He gently advised, “Ms. Summers, Mr. Hale, I think you’d better return to Solandis. People here are furious right now. If you stay, there’s a real risk they’ll storm in.”
There are instances when there is nothing anyone can do when a crowd gets out of control. Ten troublemakers are manageable for the police, but not a hundred.
Nolan took a deep breath. “What are you saying? You’re blaming Milly for the apples‘ issue when she’s been working so hard streaming these past few days?”
Inside, the coordinator was furious. Wasn’t this whole mess caused by Milly and those fruit farmers.
First, Milly had used two million dollars to win those people over, getting them to push Amelia out.
The two sides were at each other’s throats now that things had gone wrong. In the meantime, online reviews for Greenvale apples had improved, and Amelia had visited Greenvale and sold nearly all the apples there. In contrast, the reputation of apples from the Sienna Valley had completely collapsed.
Lately, all of the customer posts showed nothing but leaking, rotten apples from Sienna Valley.
Although Milly claimed to have a solution for keeping the apples fresh, it consisted solely of insulated bags and ice packs. In addition to increasing the cost of shipping, this was completely pointless, and everyone’s hard work had been in vain.
The coordinator took a deep breath.
“All 20,000 kg of apples in Greenvale/have already been sold out by Ms. Amelia. Additionally, the head of Hale Corporation is interested in a number of locations there and intends to expand tourism. Two locations in Sienna Valley were initially shortlisted, but the fruit farmers were spoiled by Ms. Milly’s two–million- dollar offer.
“They now demand a hundred million dollars for those two sites, believing Hale Corporation to be unthinkably wealthy. Hale Corporation refused, so Sienna Valley’s sites were dropped from the development plan.”
Despite being aware that the coordinator was pointing the finger at her, Milly remained calm. Rather, she pretended to be frail by leaning weakly against the wall.

“I apologize. I never intended to incite their greed, and my goal with the two million was to reduce everyone’s losses rather than force them to breach their agreements with Arnelia
Although Milly sounded innocent enough, in retrospect, she had never specifically instructed the fruit farmers to terminate their agreement with Amelia when she made the two–million–dollar offer.
It was simply for her to disassociate herself from responsibility because she was adept at controlling the conversation and never said anything that might be interpreted against her.
The coordinator couldn’t think of anything to say. With Greenvale apples doing well and Sienna Valley apples in trouble, and with Mr. Hale showing interest in Greenvale, it was impossible for Sienna Valley to openly request another chance, especially since the fruit farmers wouldn’t settle for less than a hundred million.
“Ms. Milly, you’d better go back. Ever since you arrived, the fruit farmers have become restless. Our place is too small to accommodate someone like you.”
His words were blunt and unkind. Milly’s expression shifted several times, but she didn’t lose her temper. She just forced a smile.
Seeing her like this, Nolan’s heart ached. He scooped her up in his arms.
“It’s okay, Milly. Now we’ll return to Solandis. Anyone is welcome to remain in this dump if they so choose.
That was exactly what Milly desired. She received an allowance of eight million dollars from her family, and Nolan had promised her a fancy car, despite the fact that this mission had failed and Amelia would bear the consequences. She had made tens of millions of dollars in a matter of days. There’s no point in getting angry with a bunch of jerks.
Nolan’s words caused the coordinator’s face to flush with rage.
“Mr. Hale, that’s not right. Do you really believe that Milly is innocent? She forced Amelia out step by step. She told fruit farmers to break their contract with Amelia and keep it a secret.
“Letting Amelia work herself to the bone for a whole day and night, selling over 4000 orders she couldn’t deliver. Go ahead and give her what she wants, but you’ll regret it one day, just like I do!”
He had finally figured out Milly. She was a spoiled heiress who pretended to care about commoners and always acted like she was better than them. She never went to an orchard; all of her live streams were from the fancy guesthouse.
Amelia, on the other hand, went straight to the orchard on her first day, working through the night and in the rain.
The manager expressed his apologies, but at the time, he had gone along with the fruit farmers. It was too late now, and all he could do was watch helplessly as Greenvale raked in the profits.
