Chapter 54 Too close
Amelia couldn’t hear what the two men were saying because she was underwater, but she could see Nathan standing right at the edge of the pool through the shimmering water.
She couldn’t come up now. She was in a hot spring with Dylan and wearing his robe. Nathan would probably kill her right away if he found out.
He would think she was trying to seduce Dylan on purpose. She couldn’t afford to be accused of that crime.
Dylan’s eyes drifted down through the swirling water, and he could see someone trying hard to hide.
But Nathan couldn’t see anything from where he was.
“No need,” Dylan said as he lowered his lashes.
If Eric weren’t stupid, he wouldn’t have let Jessica take the mistress’s place, which would have meant that Nolan never existed.
Nathan was about to leave when he heard Dylan say, “Is everything okay with Sienna Valley?” He was a little surprised that it hadn’t been finished before they got here.
In Sienna Valley, there weren’t many places that were worth building. Greenvale, on the other hand, had hot springs and mountain views that were one of a kind. There was even a large platform next to the highest cliff, which was great for viewing the other peaks. It was a place that was worth building on.
Nathan answered even though he was confused. “Yes, there are only two attractions in Sienna Valley, but the government sold them to the fruit farmers a long time ago. The fruit farmers are asking for 100 million dollars now that they know someone wants to build in the area.”
It was almost impossible to believe that fruit farmers would ask for so much. He had no idea where they got the guts.
Amelia, hidden beneath the water, felt like she was about to suffocate and grabbed on whatever she could.
Dylan’s gaze wavered. He said to Nathan, “You can go.”
Nathan walked out of the room, confused.
As soon as he was gone, Dylan turned his head away, visibly uncomfortable.
When Nathan left, Amelia jumped out of the water, gasping for air. She looked down and felt like her whole body was on fire.
Dylan didn’t look at her, his voice hoarse.“Can you let go now?”
Amelia wished she could disappear into thin air.
“I’m sorry.” She hurriedly let go.

But Amelia never expected this reaction from him. She’d thought Dylan would be completely unaffected, but underwater, she could feel something awakening.
She heard his breathing grow rapid.-

as she tried to climb out.
Dylan grabbed her by the waist, and they both fell back into the water with a loud splash.
His voice sounded right by her car. “What’s the rush?”
She was still wearing his bathrobe, and with them so close together, it was hard not to think of other things.
Amelia tried to push him away because she wanted to be far away from him, but her hand touched his hot skin, which made her feel like she was taking advantage of him.
Dylan’s eyes darkened as he looked down at her pale hand resting on his chest.
There was a lot of sexual tension in the air them.
Amelia could feel something pushing against her through the thin fabric of the bathrobe. She couldn’t ignore it.
She felt small next to Dylan, who was tall and had his arm around her waist.
In that moment, Amelia suddenly understood. No matter how restrained Dylan might seem, he was still a man with desires.
If he didn’t react in this situation, he’d have been made of stone. And clearly, he wasn’t.
Amelia had a feeling that if she moved even a little, there was no telling what might happen next. She froze right away, not moving a muscle.
Dylan’s grip on her waist tightened a little. He leaned in, rested his chin on her shoulder, and spoke much more softly now. “Don’t move.”
Those words made Amelia freeze, making her feel completely enveloped by his presence.
Dominant, gentle, distant, powerful. All of those different qualities came together to make a cage that completely trapped her.
Dylan closed his eyes, trying to calm the turmoil in his body.
Amelia didn’t do anything at all. She turned her head a little and saw his chin resting on her shoulder. It was impossible not to notice how good–looking he was.
Dylan was almost too handsome, like something out of a movie, and now they were so close. His skin was perfect, and his features were striking.
Her mind was swirling with all kinds of thoughts.
A few minutes later, Dylan finally let go of her waist.
“Mr. Hale, I know this is a normal reaction for a man,” Amelia said quickly. “I won’t think about it too much. The atmosphere here is just too much for anyone to resist, so anyone would react the same way…”
No sooner had she finished speaking than his sharp gaze landed on her face.
The warmth from before was gone in a flash, and the cold was so sharp that it felt like it could cut her in half.
