I am ripped from my flashback to the present. I can see Thane leaning over talking to me through my blurry vision, hut his words are garbled. I am having a panic attack, and Lean faintly bear words coming from Thane about my breathing. He must be trying to calm me down and an I do. I focus on his words and my breathing.
The room becomes clearer, and I feel the weight being lifted from my chest. The sense of dread left my stomach. Thane kisses me on top of the head, and 1 try to act like 1–lidn’t even notice, but I am sure he sees my checks heating up when I show Jelena where to cut my hair as I catch eyes with him in the mimo. After what seems like hours, I stand up and can’t believe it. I have thick white layered hair that falls below my breasts. It looks amazing and I can’t stop smiling. Thane pays for my haircut and looks around outside, before ushering me to his SUV and belting me in. We drive through town and Thane stops at a restaurant grabbing a to go order and driving us to a park. Unpacking our meal, I am thankful he didn’t push me to eat in front of other shifters yet. I know I need to, but not just yet. Everything he has shown to me is beautiful. The pack is huge and there is a feeling of rightness being out here.
We begin eating, Thane making small talk when I decide to take a step in faith. With a moment of courage, I act before I can talk myself out of it and slide my phone over to Thane. A ceremony would be a great way to meet everyone, but overwhelming at the same time. “You also will have some things to say during the ceremony or when obtaining a pack mark from me and you need to be able to verbalize it for the mark to take effect.” I didn’t realize that and that causes me to pause eating
“Hey, it’s okay little wolf. You have plenty of time to think about it. I won’t kick you out, but I rager to hear your words.” I look up and grin at him and start eating again. Suddenly, multiple questions start flying around my brain and I start typing away at my phone causing him to chuckle.

Thane takes my phone when I hand it to him and starts reading my question, “Will I need to move to a different room when I become a pack member?”
“Well Ayla, that is a good question. Normally, that sui

On the one hand you can stay because you’re comfortable, but on the other it appears as though I am giving you preferential treatment since nobody is allowed to stay on my floor that isn’t a Best. “Where do mated shifters stay?” for some reason, Thane reading that question makes me slightly nauseous. Yes, I have a mate out there somewhere, but he may not be in this pack. Or what if he is and then can’t see Thane anymore and must treat him as an Alpha only! What if Thane finds his mate and she wants me moved from my room? The endless queftions have me shifting in my seat and getting nervous.
He clears his throat, looking at me for a while, wondering where my question is leading before answering, “Mated shifters have houses in town. Once shifters meet their mate, they go into heat, and we cant have a wolf in heat inside a building full of unmated shifters. It isn’t safe,” I nodded my head “yea‘ in understanding and finish eating.
“Will I move out of the pack house when I find my mate?” he reads my next question with a little surprise on his face. Clearing his throat again, he seems slightly nervous while he answers.

“Well, I haven’t given it too much thought lately, but yes I will probably build a house for my male in the forest between the town and ‘can quickly rush away from both if needed. I am hoping to find my mate son Ayla, being almost 30, there is some pressure, and I wond perfect half than a choten mate, but I know that if I take a chosen mate, she will be the most beautiful, honest, strong and as close to perfect as a chosen mate can be.” I smile at him, my smile probably not reaching my eyes as I think about losing my connection to Thane
He starts to clean up our lunch mess when I notice him looking around the pack, towards the woods. I caught him a few times scenting the air before fir turned to me stating, “Thank you for having lunch with me little wolf and coming with me in look around the pack. I had a good time this morning. I have some meetings to attend and a few things to finish up, so 1 think we should be headed back.”
He gets up and extends his hand, I slide my tiny palms into his outstreiched hand and let him lead me back to the SUV and helt me into the car. In mons out and full. A nap being the only thing on my agenda as soon as I return to my rooms. I catch him looking around again before flashing me his imples. I “wonder what he is sensing or who he is looking for?
