Chapter 48 Like Mother, Like Son
“There’ll be at least a thousand orders still in the system. Let’s get some people to pack everything up overnight, and ship the apples out,” Amelia ordered. ·
A few young people had been working in the tent for a few days. They had only sold a few dozen orders because they didn’t have many customers. Still, more than 20 people came to help with the packing. Now that the orders had suddenly gone up, the fruit farmers who were waiting nearby also got to work.
Someone asked, puzzled, “Did we sell a few thousand orders that quickly?”
Amelia didn’t want any misunderstandings, so she explained what had happened earlier. No one said much. As long as the customers knew these were apples from Greenvale.
“Well, hurry and get the loudspeaker,” someone said with their hands on their hips. “Get everyone up from one end of the village to the other to be ready to pack! Before we go to bed, let’s pack these orders!”
A young man quickly grabbed the loudspeaker and ran off to call people.
Soon, almost everyone over the age of fifteen had shown up and started packing with ease.
They worked for three hours straight before finally completing the thousands of packages.
Amelia yawned, and Nemi screamed. “Amelia! There are more than a few thousand orders still to fill. Even though thousands of people canceled, I’ve received messages from more than 2,000 people saying they won’t cancel their orders.
It was hard to believe. That meant there were still at least 2000 orders that needed to be shipped. She thought it would be great to have a few thousand left.

Nemi’s cheeks were flushed with excitement. “I asked around, and a lot of people said it’s because they trust
you
Amelia did a great job in front of the camera. She was calm and graceful, answering every question patiently and never losing her temper.
After holding back for so long, Nemi finally got some good news and jumped up and down in delight.
“There are still many people who haven’t replied yet. We should get more confirmations tomorrow, but these 2000 orders are enough to keep us packing until morning.”
Amelia felt as though a huge burden had been lifted from her shoulders. She waved her hand grandly at all the hopeful faces in front of her.
“Everyone, let’s work hard. It seems like we’ll be up all night.”
The group cheered with excitement and then returned to packing.
Meanwhile, over in Sienna Valley, Dylan was propping his head up with one hand, slowly flipping through the documents in front of him. Nathan stood by his side and couldn’t help but speak up
“Mr. Hale, Mr. Nolan is sharing a room with Milly tonight, Should we inform the Hale family?”
He didn’t like Milly, and Nolan was still engaged to Amelia. If word got out in their circle that he and Milly were sharing a room before the wedding, it would cause a stir.
Chapter 48 Like Mother, Like Son
Nolan Hale’s mother had originally been a mistress who managed to marry into the family, which was already a stain on the Hale family’s reputation. In such elite circles, it was rare for a mistress to take the wife’s place. When Jessica succeeded back then, the wealthy ladies in their circle had all looked down on her
If people found out that Jessica’s son, who was engaged, had slept with his fiancée’s younger sister, there would be another wave of rumors.
Dylan was now in charge of everything about the Hale family. He would be the one to fix things if the family’s reputation took another hit.
Dylan looked at the papers in his hand and spoke in a calm voice. “No need.”
Nathan’s eyes were full of sarcasm, and he couldn’t help but mutter, “Like mother, like son.”
A woman who married in as a mistress would never have a truly respectable son.
Anyone with common sense knows how to maintain their good name. You could have fun outside, but you couldn’t tell anyone that you were having an affair with your fiancée’s sister. The true elite would never behave that way.
“That’s enough.” Dylan shut the file he was holding and wheeled himself to the door.
Nathan knew he had gone too far and didn’t want to say anything else. He quietly put the order.

Dylan was going outside to get some fresh air. The guesthouse had a view, and Sienna Valley was far enough from the city to enjoy fresh air.
He leaned back and looked up at the moon. It was already 1:00 am, and everyone else was asleep. Only the sound of water trickling over the rock garden could be heard.
The sound of his wheelchair wheels was evident in the quiet night.
He stopped in front of the central courtyard, where a painting hung. It was the work of a skilled artist, adding a special touch to the place.
“Mr. Hale, do you like this painting too?” Milly said in a gentle voice as she slowly walked up to Dylan. “I didn’t expect you to be awake too, Mr. Hale. The nights here are so peaceful, the air is fresh, and even the moon is perfectly round.”
She looked proud for a moment. She was determined to make a good impression on Dylan. She was sure that with a little effort, Dylan would fall in love with her, just like all the other men.
She also learned her lesson this time and called him Mr. Hale instead of Dylan.
