Chapter 34 An Escape Method
Amelia clenched her jaw and let out a low moan. She felt humiliated to do this in front of someone as respectable and dignified as Dylan, but she was at a loss for what to do right now.
Those suggestive sounds caused the people outside to pause. Amelia took advantage of the opportunity to talk. “Who is it? I don’t need room service right now.”
She added another breathy moan after she finished speaking. “Stop it, someone’s outside…”
The knocking stopped. Dylan couldn’t have been in the bathroom, and the intruders hadn’t anticipated on finding such a scene.
After all, Dylan was disabled. It was impossible for him to be messing around with a woman in the bathroom.
They hurried away after failing to locate any signs of Dylan.
Amelia listened carefully for any sounds outside. Once she confirmed the noises had stopped, she finally let herself relax.
She dared not look at Dylan’s face. The only sounds she heard were the sound of his wheelchair scraping the floor and the faucet turning on in the sink.
He soaked the towel again, the veins on the back of his hands standing out, showing just how much self- control he was exerting.
Amelia didn’t dare open the bathroom door
Yet, so she stood there awkwardly.
Dylan’s whole body remained tense; she watched his chest rise and fall as he held the cold towel to his face.
The room was still heavy with a humid, thick tension. Amelia could even hear his heavy breathing, as if he was struggling to keep himself in check.
It took him a long time to speak. “Come here.” He had a raspy, nearly unrecognizable voice.
Amelia didn’t dare disobey and walked over slowly.
Heat radiated from his body, and even his exposed neck was beaded with sweat.
The towel was no longer helping. Dylan slowly straightened up, scooped cold water in his hands, and splashed it on his face. Some of the water dripped onto his robe.
“Mr. Hale, you still have a cold.”
Dylan leaned forward slightly, splashing his face several times, his voice still rough. “Then what do you suggest I do?”
Amelia could not think of anything to say. Whatever Savannah had given was not your typical medication. Dylan was suffering this badly, so if it had been anyone else, they would have lost control long ago. Furthermore, who could predict how long the effects would last?
He was receiving physical therapy for his legs and was already unwell. She would never be able to forgive herself if this had an impact on his recovery.
Amelia stood in front of the sink in silence for a few seconds, then suddenly said, “How about I find you

someone?
As soon as the words left her mouth, she felt Dylan’s breathing pause for several seconds.
The charged atmosphere vanished instantly, replaced by a chilling, menacing coldness.
“Get out.”
Amelia felt a chill run down her spine. For the first time, she truly sensed his anger. She didn’t dare say another word. She slowly opened the bathroom door and walked out.
She sat restlessly in the bedroom, worried that something might happen
to Dylan.
Two hours passed before Dylan finally opened the bathroom door. He was still in his wheelchair and didn’t spare her a glance, heading straight back to his room.
Amelia wanted to ask about his cold, but he was so distant that she didn’t dare say a word.
The next morning, she got up early and happened to run into Nathan as she was leaving.
Nathan had just left Dylan’s room. His face immediately became icy upon seeing her.
“This is the timetable for the coming Agricultural Aid project, Ms. Summers. The schedule outlines all of your tasks. A female employee has been assigned to go with you; she’s in the lobby already, waiting for you,” Nathan explained.
Amelia glanced at Dylan’s door and asked, “Is Mr. Hale alright?”
“Mr. Hale is meeting with government officials of Sienna Valley later to discuss the tourism development. That’s different from the Agricultural Aid project you’re in charge of, Ms. Summers.”
In other words, she shouldn’t bother Dylan.
Amelia didn’t dare see him now, so she hurried to the lobby to meet the female staff member.
Her name was Nemi Hayes. She greeted Amelia with a polite nod but maintained a distant tone.
Amelia had already reviewed the schedule, and the project partners were waiting outside the guesthouse. As Amelia walked out with Nemi, she explained the key points.
“The apples are smaller than normal this year due to the severe rainfalls. The apples are piling up and cannot be sold because no one is willing to buy them. They’ll only last another ten days at most, so we need to move them quickly.”
As soon as Amelia got in the car, thunder rumbled outside. It looked like a storm was coming.
Nemi looked up at the sky with concern. “We still need to visit the orchard, Amelia. The roads are quite isolated. We might not return until the middle of the night if it pours.”
Amelia frowned. The apples were still on the trees, and their shelf life would be even shorter if there were a strong storm tonight. Their only option was to sell them online, as the buyers didn’t want these small apples.
“Get someone to bring over a livestream setup, Nemi. I recall that one of Hale Corporation’s companies recently launched a livestreaming business. Ask them to put us on the ‘For You‘ page by getting in touch with them. We won’t have to worry about getting viewers.”

Nemi bit her lip anxiously. “Are we starting the livestream tonight?”
