Married Again Her Redemption Story 154
Chapter 154
Ever since Isabella returned to the country, had been waiting for this moment waiting for Henry to bring Isabella before me aruf funtly say: “Topi marriage is over. I want to marry isabella.”
From the moment I learned of Isabella’s return, a knife had been hanging over my heart. Now, the knife had fallen, and my heart died with it. My love Let Henry had completely dissipated through endless erosion.
I stepped toward Henry and Isabella, my face wearing a composed smile as I looked at their intertwined fingers, as if I were merely a witness to their love story. Despite the tumultuous emotions inside me, my expression remained polite and dignified.
“Congratulations, Mr. Harding,” I said pleasantly. ‘I’m so happy you and Miss Scott have finally found each other, shouldn’t we expedite our divorce papers? That way, Miss Scott can properly marry you.”
In that moment, Henry seemed taken aback, as if suddenly realizing I wasn’t crushed by his actions. The woman standing before him–elegant, composed, speaking with grace and confidence–bore little resemblance to the desperate wife he thought he knew. Looking at me in my formal attire, he appeared momentarily disoriented: Was I really the same Sophia he knew?
The guests were stunned! Had I really suggested divorce so casually? The entire room fell silent, everyone waiting for Henry’s response. Some mischlers guests discreetly pulled out their phones, eager to record this drama.
Faced with my cold, distant gaze, Henry appeared flustered. He quickly released Isabella’s hand and stepped toward me,
his voice low and urgent.
“Stop this nonsense!” he hissed. “Isabella is just here to give Billy her birthday wishes. Don’t target her.” His voice dropped even lower. “We can discuss divorce after the party is over!”
The truth was, since the day Henry married Sophia, divorce had never crossed his mind. Though Sophia frequently annoyed him, she was undeniably the only woman who could trigger his most primal physical responses–something even Isabella couldn’t achieve. This was his deepest secret, one he’d never share with anyone, least of all Sophia.
Henry deliberately lowered his voice to a warning whisper. “Sophia, this is supposed to be a joyous occasion. Don’t cause a scene! I brought Isabella here with no ulterior motive–just so she could say a few words to Billy.” He leaned closer. “As a mother, you should be happy when someone shows affection for your child, not try to drive guests away!”
I had intended to handle our divorce calmly, but Henry’s increasingly offensive comments pushed me over the edge.
‘Henry, I countered, my voice steady but firm, “as a father, do you think your child appreciates watching you hold another woman’s hand in front of him and his mother? Don’t lecture me about being gracious–I don’t need grace, I need divorce papers! I’m only asking you one question today: Will you divorce me or not? When will you give me those divorce papers?”
There wasn’t a hint of reluctance in my tone–only urgency.
When I first met Henry, it happened to be right after Sam, the man I deeply loved, had passed away Seeing Henry’s face, so similar to Sam’s, I had agreed to marry him without hesitation.
Later, when Henry fell gravely ill, I approached his grandfather for help to ensure our marriage would proceed. From that day forward, I knew this marriage was merely an illusion, something I would eventually have to relinquish.
For six years, I had tried my best to love Henry while simultaneously preparing myself for the inevitable day I would lose him.
Having those six years with someone who resembled Sam had been a blessing. My love for Henry had been genuine, but so was the fact that he served as Sam’s substitute in my heart. My jealousy when seeing him so tender and gentle with Isabella had also been real. But none of that mattered anymore. All I wanted now was to distance myself from this man.
Henry’s anger flared. “You’re always claiming how much you love Billy, but is this how you show it? By making his parents divorce voice remained low enough for only me to hear. We’ll discuss divorce after the birthday celebration, when we get home.”
Billy, who had been listening to our conversation about divorce, turned his little head toward me with pleading eyes.
his sixth birthday?” His
. “Mommy, can we talk about this after dinner? Please?” He understood what divorce meant–that afterward, he would be a child without a father. Precisely because he understood, he treasured this moment all the more.

Richard also tried to ease the tension. “Sophia, Billy has a point. Why not wait until tomorrow?” He was furious with his son. How could Henny bung Tang to such an important event? Wasn’t that deliberately humiliating Sophia?
I hadn’t expected Henry to play so dirty, using Billy to pressure me. After a moment’s thought, I turned to Henry and said, “If you agree to divorce and signa the papers immediately, I’m willing to compromise.”
Henry felt his temple pulsing with anger! Was Sophia really determined to cause a scene in front of everyone? Just as he was deliberating whether to agree to my demand, Grace spoke up.
“Brother, you absolutely must agree to the divorce!” she exclaimed loudly. “You’ve been betrayed for so many years, and you’re still unwilling to reveal the truth publicly? To expose this slut’s hypocrisy?” Her voice was loud enough for everyone in the room to hear clearly.
William immediately ordered someone to remove Grace from the room. Richard, equally furious, stood up and grabbed Grace’s arm, forcefully pulling her toward the exit.
‘You wretched girl! If you can’t speak properly, don’t speak at all! No one’s treating you like you’re mute. Get out of here!”
3 Grace paid no attention to her father. She twisted around to face me, shouting accusingly, “Sophia, do you dare claim that Billy is really my brother’s child?
The entire room erupted in shocked murmurs! The untouchable Henry Harding, raising someone else’s child?
