Chapter 148
Chapter 148
Sharon glanced at that plate of vegetables and nodded faintly. But she ignored the plate of vegetables and just went on eating her own lood
Margaret looked at that plate of vegetables, and suddenly her eyes turned red. She lowered her head to stare at the food in front of her, losing her appetite all at once. So Nicholas wasn’t cold–hearted; he just hadn’t met the girl he loved.
Margaret picked up her tray and went straight to the other side. She didn’t want to sit there, fearing she might lose control.
Elizabeth saw this scene and instinctively glanced at Caesar, but that man had only ever cared about Nicholas, and now there was Sharon added to his list.
She felt a bit down and lowered her head to eat on her own.
After the meat, they went to deal with their own businesses.
Sharon was used to being alone and walked away.
Nicholas looked down at the untouched vegetable plate and let out a silent sigh in his heart.
Brent leaned over and said, “Nick, this isn’t going to work. What’s a big guy like you doing getting all moody? You were really not giving Sharon any face
at all.”
“She’s the one not giving me face first,” Nicholas retorted.
“Don’t say that. Sharon did that for the bigger picture. It wasn’t right to keep switching seats anyway. Besides, is your pride more important than your fiancée?” said Brent.
Nicholas thought for three seconds and concluded that his fiancée was more important. But he’d never been in a relationship before, so of course he had no idea how to coax a girl.
When Sharon got back to her dorm and took out her phone, she found a ton of messages and missed calls, all from her eight brothers.
Richard: [I sent Sharon a hundred text messages today, but she didn’t reply to a single one. She must be worried about disturbing my work. What a sweet girl!]
Wallace: [I called Sharon 99 times today, but she didn’t answer any of them. She must be concentrating on her classes. Sharon studying hard is so cute.]
Patrick: [I spaced out thinking about Sharon 99 times today. My agent said people who space out don’t deserve to be movie stars, but I just can’t help thinking about Sharon.]
Aaron: [Today, someone asked me what a hacker’s duty is to protect. I said firewalls, but in my heart, I was thinking of Sharon.]
Marcus: [I did as many surgeries in the hospital today as the number of times I thought about Sharon.]
Jeffrey: [Our lab cracked a Nobel Prize–winning project today. I really want to give the medal to Sharon, but it’s a pity she’s not at home.]
Marvin: [It’s Sharon’s first day at school. I miss her, still miss her. The wine outside doesn’t taste good anymore. When will Sharon be back?]
She looked at the messages in the group and couldn’t help but laugh. Sharon: [I was at the freshman camp in the morning and didn’t ha with me.]
Richard: [You still have to go to freshman camp? What kind of crappy rule is this? Why haven’t I heard of it before?]
Wallace: [Is it tiring? What kind of activities are there? If you don’t want to go, I can help you ask for a sick leave.]

Chapter 148

All eight brothers expressed their concern and said they could help her skip the tiring freshman camp.
Sharon: [No need. It shouldn’t be too tiring.]
Besides, the freshman camp was a piece of cake for her.
But her brothers still wanted to help her ask f
k for leave. Sharon: [I’m fine.]
Sharon wasn’t just being tough; for her, it
Wa
all really just child’s play.
After a short chat, Sharon switched apps and started contacting her friends.
Solar: [How’s the investigation going on the League of Niko?]
Cameron: [Haven’t found much yet, but I did dig up something interesting. House of Obsidian has always been interfering with and controlling things related to Velvyn, and it’s said that everything about Lostara is connected to House of Obsidian.]
Cameron: [They basically control all the channels, and ordinary people don’t even have the right to get close.)
Sharon squinted. Solar: [Are you saying that the League of Niko is actually made up of people from House of Obsidian? They’re specifically in charge of We cleaning up Velvyn and keeping outsiders from knowing the secrets inside?]
David: [Exactly. The League of Niko is most likely their people, and it should be related to House of Obsidian.]
Jannie said, [But House of Obsidian has always been very mysterious, so it’s not easy to investigate. Plus, they’ve been looking for us these days, and we’re afraid of getting exposed.]
Sharon thought for a moment, her eyes turning cold. Solar: [Then stop. Let them come to me.]
Cameron: [Calm down. If your identity gets discovered, those guys won’t let you go.]
Although Sharon’s status was special, she once had a grudge against those from House of Obsidian. Last time in the Race of Champions, she almost killed Niko.
It was a major grudge by any measure.
No matter what, if it were found out, Sharon’s past couldn’t be hidden.
Solar: [Even if I say I’m Solar, no one will believe me. It’s just about throwing out a bait. Besides, there are so many people taking the exam this time. How would the other side know who I am?]
House of Obsidian was so mysterious and hard to find. Instead of taking the risk of being exposed while searching hard, it was better to just wait for the right opportunity. She wanted to see who her enemy really was.
Cameron: [Solar, isn’t your fiancé from House of Obsidian? Why don’t you ask him for help?]
Nicholas was so good to Sharon; he should be willing to help.
Moreover, with Nicholas‘ status and position, it would be easy for him to investigate anyone.
Sharon was stunned. That was a good idea, but she wasn’t sure if she should ask him for
