Chapter 105
For a moment, I thought he would refuse, that his anger would override everything else.
Then, almost imperceptibly, I felt the tension in his arm decrease slightly.
Without another word, I led Henry toward the door, not daring to look back at Thomas. As we left, I could feel Henry’s pulse hammering beneath my fingers, the adrenaline still coursing through him.
“Sophia,” Henry said, his voice tight with controlled fury, “you’re not actually defending that bastard, are you?”
“No,” I answered honestly. “I just don’t want you to end up in jail for murder.”
A muscle in Henry’s jaw twitched, but he didn’t argue. His eyes remained dark with anger, but I sensed some of his rage subsiding as we walked down the corridor together, his blood leaving small droplets on the pristine hospital floor.
Deep inside, I knew this momentary peace wouldn’t last.”
Henry’s protective, possessive reaction didn’t mean our fundamental problems were solved.
But for now, I held onto his bleeding hand, leading him away from this absurd duel.
I took Henry to the surgical department, where a surgeon x–rayed his hand, confirmed no damage to tendons or bones, and then I felt relieved enough to take him for dressing.
Throughout the entire process, Henry didn’t say a word, just maintained a dark, gloomy face, as if the whole world owed
him money.
I was like a nanny, careful and attentive the whole time, trying to be helpful.
“It’s good that your bones are fine. Let’s have the nurse dress your wound quickly.”
Today, Henry saved me, and no matter what, I should thank this man.
Taking him to have his wounds dressed was the least I could do
The surgical nurse was bandaging another patient with injuries more serious than Henry’s. She glanced sideways at the wound on Henry’s hand and said to me irritably, “Wait a while. This case is much more serious than yours.“,
“Besides, aren’t you a nurse too? Can’t you handle such a minor injury yourself?”
“If you’re so anxious and concerned, then why don’t you dress it for him!”
Her words left me speechless.
Although her attitude wasn’t good, her words made perfect sense.
I hit my lip, grabbed some iodine and disinfectant from nearby, along with some medical cotton Henry’s wound.
s, and began cleaning
Henry’s injury was on his left hand, not serious, but a large piece of skin on the back of his left hand was torn, almost covering the entire back of his hand.

The skin was peeled back, exposing red flesh, raw and bloody, looking quite gruesome,
After being rendered speechless by a colleague, I looked at the wound on the back of Henry’s hand and finally decided to do it myself. When Henry heard someone leaving me speechless he couldn’t help but glance appreciatively at that nurse.
“Henry curved his lips into a slight smile. Then his gaze fell on me, as he leaned back in his chair, assuming the posture of
a big boss.
He just wanted me to wait on him! But what could I do? After ), he got injured because of me.
Out of gratitude, even facing Henry’s attitude of treating me like a servant, I didn’t show any rejection.
After completing all the preparations, I took a deep breath, trying to keep myself calm.
I used a cotton swab dipped in iodine to apply it to the wound on the back of his hand.
“I need to disinfect the wound first. It might hurt a bit, so please bear with it.”
If Henry hadn’t saved me, I definitely wouldn’t speak to him so gently.
A grown man, couldn’t he handle this little pain?
Despite my prior warning to Henry, he still made a very pained expression, occasionally sucking in cold air.
His handsome face was filled with pain.
For a moment, I really wanted to ask him: Does it really hurt that much?
But…
The pained expression on Henry’s face was like a whip, lashing at my heart, disturbing my wavering heart.
