Chapter 104
My threats seemed to fall on leaf ears.
Thomas’s expression completely changed, his usual gentle demeanor replaced by strong possessiveness. He tightened his grip on my waist, forcefully pulling me toward him.
“Sophia, be good,” he growled, his voice unrecognizable from the kind doctor I thought I knew. “If you just do what I want, I’d give you my life! Don’t you understand?”
He tried to press his lips against mine, his breathing heavy with desire. I twisted my face away, barely avoiding the kiss. A wave of disgust and betrayal washed over me. Thomas–the man I’d considered a friend, a colleague, someone I trusted- how could he become such an abusive person?
This educated doctor who presented himself as such a gentleman was now revealing his true nature, and it terrified me.
I opened my mouth to scream for help, praying someone–would hear me.
Before I could make a sound, rapid footsteps approached from the hallway.
Everything happened so fast. Thomas was suddenly yanked away from me with tremendous force. A blur of movement ended with Thomas being slammed against the wall, followed by the chilling sound of knuckles connecting with flesh.
“You fucking piece of shit!” a familiar voice roared.
Henry.
His fist smashed into Thomas’s face, then his stomach, each blow landing with brutal precision. Each punch’s impact made me wince–I could practically feel the pain just from the sounds
Thomas wasn’t completely helpless, though. After recovering from the initial shock, he began fighting back, landing a solid hit to Henry’s jaw.
“You worthless bastard!” Thomas spat, blood trickling from his split lip. “You don’t even care about Sophia! Why are you still clinging to her? You married her but never appreciated her. You gave her nothing but coldness and emotional abuse, and now you’re fucking Isabella on the side! What right do you have to hit me?”
Henry’s eyes blazed with a fury I’d never seen before. Each accusation from Thomas only fueled his rage. He dodged Thomas’s next swing and delivered a devastating blow to his ribs that left the doctor gasping for air.
I suddenly realized why Henry was here. He must have returned home last night and found Billy and me gone. Then he’d come to the hospital this morning, under the pretext of visiting his grandfather, actually looking for me. When I hadn’t given him the response he expected, he’d followed me and heard my cries for help.
The two men were now locked in a vicious struggle, exchanging blow after blow.
Thomas was clearly outmatched–he was a doctor after all, no match for Henry’s strength and obvious fighting experience -but he refused to back down, directing every punch at Henry’s face.
“Stop it!” I cried out, terrified by how quickly the situation had escalated.
Blood was already staining both men’s shirts, and Thomas’s eye was completely swollen.

Chapter 104
“Henry, that’s enough!”
Henry paid no attention to my pleas, completely consumed by age. The look in his eyes was almost feral as he systematically tried to demolish Thomas, who was now struggling to stay on his feet.
“I grabbed Henry’s arm, desperately trying to pull him away. “Stop! You’re going to kill him!”
“Why the fuck do you care about him?” Henry snarled, shaking the off without taking his eyes off Thomas. “This garbage was trying to force himself on you!”
“I know! But I don’t want you to beat him to death!” I shouted, rying to make him understand. “Think about the consequences!”
“Sophia, Thomas wheezed through bloody lips, “you’re actually defending him? After everything he’s done to you?”
Henry’s expression darkened even further. “Siding with me instead of with scum like you?” He raised his fist again, his knuckles already broken and bleeding.
I managed to wedge myself between them, grabbing Henry’s wrist. “Your hand is bleeding,” I said. “Let me bandage it.”
The mention of his injury seemed to calm Henry’s anger.
He glanced down at his hand, surprised to see his blood dripping onto the floor.
“Henry,” I said more gently. “Please. Let’s go get this wound treated.”
