Chapter 127
Janelle said, “I heard it was given to her by a friend. Either way, stay away from Sharon from now on. If I find out you’ve been messing with her fill freeze all your credit cards.”
Hearing that, Ashley and Garrett exchanged a look but didn’t say anything.
Still, deep down, she just couldn’t let it go and grumbled inwardly, ‘It’s just borrowed Hunter Coins, not even hers. What is she acting all high and mighty for?
‘Either way, Aunt Madeline’s death is definitely tied to the Vance family. Ugh, I seriously can’t stand anyone from that family?
Once the Vance family changed hands, Malcolm took his group straight to the Vance Mansion. To their surprise, the front gate swung open with just a push. The place that was once grand now felt completely deserted, with junk scattered everywhere on the floor.
Word of the power shift had clearly spread fast. The former successor was still critically injured, and everyone knew about the fierce rift between Roxanne and the Vance family’s eight brothers. It was obvious to all that she had lost.
Now that the eight Vance brothers were in charge, and given that Sharon had nearly died here before, a lot of people who’d been involved in that mess were scared she’d come after them for revenge. They grabbed anything valuable and took off in a hurry.
Malcolm took in the scene and let out a sigh, musing, ‘What was the point of all this? Mrs. Vance brought this on herself.
He then instructed, “Get a crew to tidy up the place a little and assign people to keep watch. We can’t have just anyone barging in and stirring up trouble.
“The Vance family is still one of the Four Great Families, so we should at least keep up appearances.”
“Understood.” The people he brought quickly spread out to handle the cleanup.
With that, Malcolm headed straight for the main house, only to find things in even worse shape. All the valuable paintings had been stripped from the
walls.
When he saw the disheveled older woman slumped on the couch, he let out a quiet sigh. “There’s no point dragging this out. Hand over the head of the family token.”
Roxanne said, “I’m the Vance family matriarch. According to the rules, they can’t mistreat me, and I still have the right to live here.”
Malcolm replied calmly, “You’re right. I don’t think they’ll drive you out. We’ve already discussed this. Just stay here. You’ll be fine.”
Roxanne’s face darkened. “How could I possibly feel fine about this?”
The moment she said that, a voice rang out loud and clear. “If you’re not fine with it, then leave.”
They turned and saw all eight Vance brothers standing there in perfect sync, with Sharon at the center. She glanced around the wrecked mansion, imagining just how much it must be breaking Roxanne to see it in this state.
Sharon thought, ‘Everyone is so quick to kick someone when they’re down. With the way Mrs. Vance treated people, I doubt anyone ev her. Must feel real nice to end up all alone like this.

“You shouldn’t get too full of yourselves. You’ll all pay for this,” Roxanne spat. Hair a mess, face aged and twisted with rage, she looked completely unhinged like a woman on the verge of a breakdown.
She had never imagined she’d lose everything so completely. When she’d slunk back here, she couldn’t understand what had gone wrong. Not until news broke that the Vance family had a new head. That was when the mansion fell into chaos, and everything crumbled in an instant.
Roxanne locked her eyes on Sharon. “You know what? I spent the whole night thinking, and I finally figured it out. You’re the problem, Sharon. Who the

hell are you?”
‘It all started when that girl came back,‘ Roxanne seethed inwardly. ‘That’s when everything changed and when everything slipped out of my hands. Sharon’s gaze was steady as she gave a cold, dismissive smile.“I’m someone better than you.”
There was nothing humble about it. She didn’t even bother explaining her identity–just laid it out plainly–she was the one Roxanne could never beat
Roxanne glared at her, hatred burning in her eyes. “You? You think you’re better?”
“Yeah. Me.” Sharon stepped forward slowly, her stare sharp and unreadable. “I’m the one who took the head of the Vance family from you with my own hands. Does that make you happy?”
Suddenly, her expression turned icy as she added, “At first, I thought an apology would be enough. But later, I realized it wasn’t. You hurt my brothers in ways that a simple apology could never make up for.
“So I planned every step carefully and waited for the moment you’d reopen the Council Hall yourself, giving us the chance to come in and have the Elders‘ Council mediate.”
Roxanne stared at her in disbelief. “It was you? This was all part of your plan?”
Sharon replied, “That’s right. And once mediation was on the table, there was always going to be bias. Too bad for you, though, you bet on the wrong side.
“The Elders‘ Council didn’t side with you. So, you practically handed over the Vance family’s leadership to me with your own hands.”
Roxanne trembled. “Y–you’re vicious! You’re just like your mother.”
A sharp chill settled in Sharon’s gaze. “You don’t get to mention them.”
“Why not? I’m going to say it today.” Roxanne’s voice rose. “Why do you think they were suddenly hunted down back then, huh? It was because of you! It was because you were born. You’re the reason they died. It was you!”
“Shut up!” Richard stepped forward, fury radiating off him.
Sharon froze. “What are you talking about?”
Roxanne let out a bitter laugh. “Oh, I’m sure you’re dying to know the truth. But I’m not telling you. It was all your mother’s fault. She was a monster.”
“Watch your mouth, you old hag.” Joan couldn’t take it anymore. She raised her hand and slapped Roxanne hard. “The rest of them might hold back, but I’m just a servant. I’ve got nothing to lose.”
Roxanne had never been in good health, and getting slapped by a servant pushed her over the edge. Enraged, she fainted on the spot.
Sharon’s face didn’t change as she asked flatly, “What did she mean by that?”
But Richard only closed his eyes, struggling to speak.
