Chapter 6
After ignoring Kimberley for a few days, Alec thought that she should have calmed down. That day was the weekend, which was originally the date they had planned to get married.
It was also the day he returned home.
The wedding was cancelled and he felt somewhat guilty about it.
Why not bring back a small gift as compensation?
He packed his luggage neatly, as he had to take back all the dirty clothes from the past fev days.
Kimberley always washed his shirts by hand and ironed them meticulously, making them much softer than those washed in a washing machine.
Thinking of Edwina just throwing everything into the washing machine, he could not help but
frown.
Edwina suddenly pushed the door open and asked, “I have a prenatal check–up today. Will you
come with me?”
Alec did not even raise his head when answering, “Let’s do it another day. I have to go back today.”
“Brother,” Edwina hooked her arm around his neck and asked coquettishly, “Are you s
heartless?”
It was ‘siblings‘ relationship‘ again.
Alec raised his eyes and looked at her.
She had dark skin, a baggy vest and two skinny legs under her denim shorts. If it were not for her slightly bulging belly, she would look like a tomboy.
He suddenly felt a chill and wondered how he could have done that that night.
Alec must have been really drunk and the room was too dark.
He suddenly missed Kimberley very much.
She was fair–skinned, beautiful, soft and tender and occasionally, the way she looked at him with red eyes made his heart feel soft and itchy.
No one could resist a girl like this and he was no exception.
He remembered the three years that Kimberley pursued him and he did not know how many
times he wavered.
Every time he scolded her with a cold face, trying to scare her away, she became more
courageous.
In the end, he was really at a loss. He thought it was okay to be a little stupid, it did not matter.if she had a low education level and he could accept the fact that he liked to have wild thoughts.
Anyway, he had never fallen in love with anyone except Kimberley.
Thinking of this, he pushed Edwina away, picked up his suitcase and was about to leave.
Edwina called him, “Alec, are you still responsible? You don’t care about the child anymore?”

Alec turned around abruptly, his anger rising, “Didn’t we agree that I would go home on the weekend? Why did you have to choose today for the prenatal checkup?”
He glanced at her from top to bottom and said with disgust, “Kimberley finally calmed down and you’re trying to imitate her again? Forget it, you’re only a man to me from head to toe, don’t try to imitate her, it makes me sick.”
Edwina froze in place, her eyes gradually turning red.
Alec slammed the door and left without looking back.
On the way, he specially picked Kimberley’s favorite rose and bought a necklace.
Imagining her secretly happy face when she received the gift, he could not help but raise the corners of his mouth.
The moment he opened the door, he felt like he was struck by lightning.
The wedding characters and ribbons all over the room were still there, but all of Kimberley’s things were gone.
On the dressing table, the engagement ring lay alone.
“Kimberley!” He punched the dresser and muttered angrily, “What on earth are you playing at?” He dialed the number tremblingly, but a strange male voice answered.
